Thanks Retrogamer!

Just want to post a big shout to UK magazine Retrogamer who have released a cover mounted CD of music from C64audio.com. This is great because not only are the tracks amazing but it supports the remix scene and promotes it. Also I can finally say that C64 music is available to buy in your local Supe...

Re: Digital MIDI-capable synthesizer on the cheap !

There are loads of digi synths available but just a few things to bear in mind, older gear will prob need a battery replacement. Not a big problem providing its not soldered to the board.. Midi controllers for modules are available but not after some searching - these days they tend to be mostly the...

Re: Chiptunes - Roland A-01 recreating a classic C64 game tune

Good video - liked the sid drum beat! The A-01 is an interesting module and now discontinued I believe so becoming harder to get hold of as time goes on. Would have preferred if it had at least 3 channel sound and sounded more 8-bit like the Speccy or Amstrad. It sounds a bit too modern soft synthy ...

Re: Mission of mercy (Filmscore) Remix

I think hate voters don't really support the remix scene. I mean people are entitled to their opinion and if something is really bad then fair enough but your Monty remix clearly doesn't deserve a grey- just as my Batman remix didn't deserve bad ratings because it's not sid to midi, nor was it badly...

Re: Mission of mercy (Filmscore) Remix

Enjoyed the youtube links, Liverpool is only up the road from me and I must say Andy's done a great job at promoting the city through his images and the music sounds fantastic - sort of Bladerunner meets Jarre. I'm glad you didn't opt for a soundtrackesque Beatles soundscape which could have been an...

Re: Mission of mercy (Filmscore) Remix

I really enjoyed this track. I thought the instrumentation and playing was of a very high quality. I was wondering if you could let us in on what you used. Was it a real orchestra, samples or synth modules? My Batman remix was done using mainly my JV 2080.

OutRun arcade inspired track

OutRun was one of my favorite games back in the day (along with 1942, Rolling Thunder and Kung Fu Master) and the music from Sega's arcade classic really inspired me to write this track - Crusin' Coconut Beach. It was done using a few classic 80's synths and a Commodore 64 for those 8bit lead /drum ...

Re: Commando (Bitrunner Blues Remix)

Hey thanks Dumper! I originally did the tune way back in 2005 for an ambient EP that eventually got shelved and filed away. Then in 2017 I heard it whilst cleaning out my music files and it reminded me of my favorite film soundtrack Blade Runner. Since the new movie is out I figured that with a bit ...

Re: Commando (Bitrunner Blues Remix)

Thanks. It's had a few likes on my soundcloud page so I guess I should polish it up a bit and release it on RKO along with another track I've been working on. ;-)
