Hm.. I'm listening on the 56 kbps link (since I only have 10 Mbps broadband at home ;-), and Winamp has in the last half hour begun to lose the connection very often. Maybe it works better if I upgrade to the 128 kbps link?

Nah.. it doesn't get more complex than this: : /Mad/Wheeled_Warriors.sid : TITLE: Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors [from the cartoon series] : ARTIST: Shuki Levi & Haim Saban Notice the leading spaces though, so everything lines up nicely. Since the "code" tag on phpBB seems to cut away ...

You send your additions or modifications to Laust on laustbn AT diku DOT dk, but remember to read STIL.faq regarding the syntax. I have a collection of a half dozen additions not yet sent, as I prefer to collect a larger bunch.

At least your collection is a gold mine for us STIL hunting whores, considering the wast number of covers that yet haven't been credited in STIL. :)

Re vocals on remix: one of my favourites is the Commando highscore by N-Joy of TSW - sometimes I hum it to myself and almost forget which song it was from the beginning. To me, the voice is an instrument like all the others, only that we understand the "tone" on a deeper level than we unde...

Any new violins lately Mark? I know it is off-topic here, but a friend of mine is studying to become a professional violin player. A few years ago he visited a local violin shop and unfortunately managed to push a $5000 instrument with his elbow into the floor. Ouch! Fortunately he had a decent ins...

I wonder if Project Galway had any influence on the composer votes, now when people had the chance to hear how it was supposed to be played. :)

Although it already is a cover of something else, maybe The Chicken Song? :) I particulary like Ben's version (subsong #2).

Depending on how strictly you set up PHP, the upload limit can be overridden for each page (or form actually). I suppose a multi-user server will prefer a fixed limit though.

I have no personal experience in how DotC plays, but the Swedish tabloid Aftonbladet did a review of the PS2 version right before Christmas. The reviewer had the Amiga version in mind, and more or less cut this remake at ankle height with the headline "Rusty Knights". His main complains we...

Time? Well, it will probably start at 5pm on Saturday, and that Saturday will be in September. Ticket price will be £15. Date? Well, probably the 5th September or the 12th September. Sorry to be nit-picking, but September 5th (and also 12th) is a Sunday. Maybe it is not very important, but it co...

If I am not mistaken, that crack is more than two years old and applied to one of the first releases, so unless someone has continued to "develope" it, Michael should be safe by having released several new versions since then.

SID to MIDI

I just found an alternative way to not only do automated SID conversion, but adding an "original" touch to it at the same time. Rather than using SID2MIDI which tries to be as exact as possible, I generated a WAV file and fed it into a WAV to MIDI converter, in this case AKoff Music Compos...

Ok, so Jukka in the newsgroup understood you correctly about the "now" part. Anyway, my current top three should be, in no particular order:
  • Delta (ingame) - Rob Hubbard
  • Tetris - Wally Beben
  • Heart of Africa - Dave Warhol

But it would be OK to nominate music from a recent C64 game (would it have to be commercial or does freeware releases work too?), since the article will talk about C64 music then and now?
