Hey Pex, thanks for the info :)

I was referring to mpeg/ogg etc. compression mid-range artifacts, so I guess I'm out of luck... :)

Have a nice day,

Audio Compression artifacts reduction

Hi all,

does anybody know a tool to reduce/remove compression artifacts from a previously compressed audio file?

Thanks in advance,

On another note, are the ratings based on a straight average of all votes or is the number of votes weighted in (i.e. the way the IMDB handles it)? They're based on the average, in the rare event that 2 tunes have equal score, the number of votes makes the difference. Chris has made some experiment...

The most accurate way is to calculate the BPM in a wav editor, the following example is for a 125BPM SID. 1. Make a 44.100Hz WAV from the SID (with SidPlay for example) 2. Load into a sample player. 3. Select an exact ammount of beats with the selection tool. (Let's say 16 beats). The Proggie should...

TD Indi tracks have a clean range from good to outstanding Hmm. That might be an indicator for Remix64 folks judging things better than RKO-Only folks. :) Well off-RKO tunes will have their own place pretty soon. Obviously R64 only tunes are bound to score higher because of having a limited (more e...

Be aware though, that each mix has its green smiley from different people, who have voted for other top ten mixes much better. So it's just a matter of (bad?) taste. ;)

It takes about half an hour for your vote to have an effect on the charts. So any discrepancies between the displays at the charts and the info pages are only temporary.

Wellllll... vocals in "Sweet" may not work for you, but it works for me (and obviously, for others too). Obviously this sweet tune polarises a lot, which is okay. But this is starting to seem as if Markus & Pex actually owed the desired ultimate cover of "Sweet" to the world....
