Re: Introduce yourself here!

As Vosla points out, Garys voting profile looks a bit polarised. Less than 10% of his votes assigned a 'good' or 'average' ratiing to a tune, with poor/bad totalling 29 votes and very good/outstanding getting 27. Looks like a chap who knows what he likes but really doesn't care for anything outside ...

Re: Introduce yourself here!

Neither I or nor the RKO jurors dictate what ratings people should be assinging to tunes. If I continue to publish something that I think is good, and the rest of the world feel that it's awfull, the votes will be skewed to display this eventually. Also, following along the lines of this Gary chaps ...

The return of the annual RKO break: 2017 edition

Cross-posted on the RKO news section and here: The annual RKO break is coming up. Upload your work before July 30th 8AM (CET) to have it processed before the break. Submissions will be accepted again on September 1st. Believe it or not, the RKO jury (or myself) haven't taken a break from processing ...

Re: Yodela

I for one welcome your new lack of close deadlines. If you're putting old tunes through the Wobblotron'17(tm), I'd love to hear a reimagination of Special Agent, Max Headroom and Future Shock[*]. Pretty please. :) *) Also, it just dawned on me that those tracks were released 16 years ago. God, we're...

Re: Ace Amiga Remixes Not on AmigaRemix

Banjo Guy Ollie roxxor. I've been following his releases for the past year or so, and he's got a lot more stuff over on https://banjoguyollie.bandcamp.com/ My favorites are probably Gods and Xenon 2: Megablast (which I bought straight away), but his take on Monkey Island isn't half bad either. 3jEqg...

Judging from the 36 seconds I have listened to so far, this has BETTER become a habit.

Yet another wobblophonic triumph. Not to knock other people, but it's stuff like this that keeps my passion for C64 remixing strong.

Personally, I'm interrested in hearing your take on two of my all-time favorites (no pressure):

If that was done back in 2009, I'd love to hear what you can come up with these days. :)

(And yes, I very much enjoyed it)

Re: Allister Brimble's "Galway Works" album

Apparently the physical CD was a stretch-goal for the Commodore 64: a visual compendium 2nd Edition kickstarter. The rest of us will have to make do with the digital release. Not that I really mind. Apart from Reformation, Project SIDologie, Symphonic64 and Ninja Musicology I can't recall the last t...

Allister Brimble's "Galway Works" album

Turns out that Allister Brimble released "The Galway Works" on bandcamp on November 1st 2016 (it's also on iTunes if that's more of your thing.) Which completely managed to fly under my radar, until I heard the chaps on the Commoflage podcast talk about it this morning.

RKO 2016-Complete torrent released

Happy New Year, Everyone! With the passing of the old year comes the annual bittorrent archive . This time it's a 817 Mb archive containing the 95 remixes published on RKO during 2016. If you can help seed this, please do so - even if you already have all the files sitting on your harddrive. I'll ke...

Re: Replace / Update track feature

What the others said. RKO is intended for the final versions of tunes, not as a place for a remix to "evolve" as such. Sure, there have been cases in the past where an artist has gone back to revisit earlier work, but most often that has been a seperate upload along with a request to remov...

I still have my Galaxy II (as it was known over here) console tucked away in a box somewhere. Brilliant game.
