8-bit PHOTO IMAGING: Minibeasts on the Commodore

Post by Commie_User »

Using a high-tech camera, one photographer's close-up of nature provides more artistic fodder for the VIC chip.

I do think these go well together. All the colour of the garden adding to the already paintbox look of some beautiful Commodore graphics.

Well come on, aren't they beautiful?
_

And just 16 colours, with some of those not allowed to stand next to each other!

I think I'm getting better at these. Of course, Project One deserves the credit for its quality renders, though I do still want some for playing with the sliders.

Other snaps on here include my Hammond corner and girlfriend, the Vietnam memorial and probably the world's first selfie, taken in 1900 (from Wikipedia).

As usual, they're Koala format, with the Autograph viewer for easy slideshow.

I wish some guy could have wowed the punters with stuff like this back in the '80s. The PCW shows would have buzzed.

I'd have loved to take an iPhone and battery powered speakers back to Henry VIII's time and play orchestral music for land. Mind you, you'd be stuffed when it ran out.
Won't somebody PLEASE think of the children?

No, what you want to do is go back with a player-piano and typewriter, claim you invented them abroad (to explain coming out of nowhere) and gain a warrant to record all the King's tracks for him in perpetuity: http://www.bl.uk/learning/timeline/item101064.html

That's the realistic option. (And make sure you go back before he was around 30. He had a riding accident and got a bit grouchy after that.)

And just to top off, I couldn't resist one last gritty selection.

Enjoy.

It's almost like playing mind games having such old computers running in a modern way. So much the Commie could do that it wasn't designed for, and well, making it far less fun doing photos and stuff for the Amiga.

_

Do these images look as good on a real C64 or they are kinda pseudo 8-bit.

Well like I said, these are actual Commodore pictures with a viewer. If you're able, why not download the full disk images and have a ball on the breadbin?

And yes, I was really impressed with the ant myself. As with the Muppets and tigers. Certain photos are really given that extra touch when bitcrushed for that thing. Much better than the Spectrum or BBC, which looked far too luminous with photos through them.
