'djbalor' caught stealing C64 remixes

One of the users on the furaffinity.net forum told me about this thread: http://forums.furaffinity.net/showthread.php?t=31514

Apparently one of their forum members has been 'releasing' remixes by Mahoney, Chronberg, Glyn R. Brown, Thomas Detert and Lagerfeldt as his own without giving credit to neither the remixers nor the original composers.

At least it looks like the admins have deleted 'his' files now.

Well.. He stole a lot of things..
And here is what I found of the tracks that's left on the site..

Tempest Part 1,2,3 & 4 = A mix I did Live on SceneSat Radio of different scene tracks.. You can download the mix from my site or from SceneSat..

If I Should Fall = Dafunk - House 6581 (Club Mix - Short Edit)
Nightwalker = my remix of Pandora
Night in the Last City = Dafunk - The 2nd Moment
All lifestyles = guess who made that track... *sigh*
Different Worlds = The first 6 mins of another mix I did on SceneSat..
Work in progress 2 = the start of Dafunk - House 6581 (Club Mix - Short Edit).. Clever way to do this, erhhh ?
Phobos 08 = my remix of Eagles
Work in progress = Dafunk - Hardcore Power (We Believe In Goa - Remix)

well.. his list of "own" music is LOOOOONG... And I have to go to bed... Maybe someone else can regonize some of 'his' tracks.. ?

There are several other tracks I have heard before but can't remember who made them.. But maybe I will remember later..

Interstellar = Enduro Racer remix by me
Frozen Mind = Slowmotion remix by me
Touching the sky = Acid Jazz (Grand theft auto) by moog and myself
Technical Difficulties = Lightspeed remix by me
New Feelings = Dafunk - Problemchild Part 7 (Unz 4 Da Slayers)
Feverhand = Evelien remix by me

argh... damn it... now I am really going to bed.. if I can fall asleep...

Now, this is actually quite hilarious to rip off... :hysterical:

Well, DJ Balor gives even Timbaland a good name in comparison... ;)

...and yes, he was the guy stealing some of Sonic Wanderers stuff at mikseri.net as well...

I imagine receiving all the acclaim must have been a drug for him. And now the big disgrace.

Pathetic. Pitiable.

*sigh*
Have been listening to the rest of his 'work' ..
He practically used every track that I have released the last 2-3 years... :(

Right now I considering lawsuit.. But is that even possible when no money is involved..
I mean if it was only a few tracks then I would just have settled for kicking his ass. But using all my stuff for so long time..

I am more than pissed.. Sometimes I've spent several days, weeks on perfecting a track and then some shitbag does this.

I am seriously thinking of disabling the my downloads and never releasing anything for public again.. Who knows when the next craphole shows up ?

What is the point of releasing stuff for free anyway.. It makes me wonder...

:(

"I used to love making music.. Now I don't"

What Leoni said. Hazel, you can't let some random person rob you of your joy of creating music.

Granted, I'd prolly be gutted as well if I found that someone was passing off my work as their own, but on the other hand it's not worth loosing any sleep over. There's bound to be other deucebags out there who rip off others in order to gain a quick taste of notoriety. This one just happened to post them in a (niche) forum where it got recognised for what it was.

It's not like it got massive airplay and propelled him further into stardom or anything (coughtimbalandcough)

A shame he didn't steal my stuff, it would be great if more people heard the tunes I'm involved in.

AND in the end the guy was just trying to be like you which is a form of flattery, with most cases like this there is always someone with a keen ear who will eventually go.. hold on a minute.. thats not his thats "insert name here" and oust them.. like now and it just showcases you as a talent and the ripper offer as a c*nt .. so screw him, screw him right in his plagueristic arse.
