How

Can you use an emulator to checkout the loaders ? Can emulators load the games in 'Real time' so to speak ?

Cheers,

Yeah, as long as it's a TAP file rather than a T64, D64 or PRG file and that it's a pure tape image. Just as good to get the tapes and load them into a REAL C64 though!!

eBay is probably your best bet although most of the ones on there at the moment seem to be C64Cs for some strange reason!

There's the odd C64G out there on eBay as well. I managed to pick one up last week despite some frenzied bidding!

Btw, this C64G isn't to be confused with the ill-fated C64GS console that appeared. This one is a German-made slightly modified version of the C64C with the addition of a neat reset button next to the on/off switch and a cream casing. Finally got a working C64 after many months of emulators! :D

I'm starting to regret selling my C64GS... I sold mine about two years ago to Allan from Commodore Scene. It was still mint in it's box and even had the sticker covering the cartridge port and everything was still bagged and everything!! Managed to get £100 for it!

Crazy doesn't even come close. I'm going to need so much therapy....

Seriously though, I expected a rarity like that to be quite popular but not up to £70. I stuck in a £75 bid thinking no-one would go that close...how wrong I was!

Fortunately, I could afford it, but still, that will teach me for trying to be clever. :)
