One of them doesnt just happen to be a Casio S-40? :)
sorry, both are 'Casio MT-70'

...and i must say they sounding very strange, but i like such stuff if it's making bleepsounds and minimal electro drums... :P

btw. i'm thinking 'bout making a soundfont of the casio...
talking 'bout soundfonts, what do you think about the 'vintage dreams waves v2' soundfont ?

Gear? We don't need no stinkin' gear... :)

I have a $150 Yamaha keyboard, a cheap Radioshack mike, and a pair of headphones. That's about it for gear. I don't even use the keyboard much except to diddle with tunes and figure out the chords etc. I find myself writing the music directly into the sequencer in piano roll form, rather than playing it live. But that may change as I try to get a more spontaneous sound...

Ah, true! I prefer trackers, but only because I know the software I use like the back of my hand...or something simillar. I'd like to try out more MIDI oriented stuff, but most of it requires somekind of MIDI keyboard (which I don't have) to be able to work smoothly. So until I get that I'll be stuck with a tracker :)

I started using Reason back in September I think. Before that I was a tracker, FastTracker 2 and ModPlug Tracker once I got my new system since FT2 wouldn't run on that :? I took a look at Scale and Renoise but haven't gotten into them yet...

Noisetracker... Uhm... No, that was on the Amiga. Haven't used a tracker for more than 10 years now.

As for a sequencer... Does Cakewalk Pro Audio 9.0 count?

Sequencer - what's that???

Well, when I sequence I use the onboard sequencer in my Roland XP-50.. Unless of course I need Amiga sound, where I use HeartTracker, C64 sound, where I use CyberTracker or VIC-20 sound, where I use Fischichella (did I get that right?). Anyone got a good tracker for Amstrad CPC464?

Much too often I tend to rely on my own capability of playing things by hand...

Ofcourse CbSX is the best :-)

yep, it's very strange i've use this soundfont on three different
soundcards (AWE 32, SBlive and Audigy Platinum) and every
time it sounds different (tuning, filter & ADSR props.... ) !

...but sometimes such sounds (call it special fx sounds) fits in a tune...

btw. most of the time i use soundfonts done myself, so i know what i get...

Hmmm... I use Emagic Logic, too... :)
So just imagine 2 points for Logic now.

Cheers,
Markus.

hope you're a mac user.... 'cause of emagic future non-support for pc...
don't get me wrong, i like both, pc for music & mac for graphics (esp. at my time at BBDO.. )

btw. it doesen't matter for me which is best sequencer, 'cause
i started '92 with cakewalk (on msdos..) and us it till today,
now it's sonar2 but the only reasons is that know these cakewalk
products. if i change to another sequencer, my workflow goes
down 'cause i must learn the handling of a new concept.....
