REQUEST: Loan of Reel to Reel Tape Deck

I was wondering if anybody on this forum had a real-to-real tape deck and would be willing to loan it to me?
My dad used to be a BIG on the old 8mm cameras and doing all the proper splicing and dicing plus adding sound tracks on his old Akai 4000DS MkII. The tape would then run around a sync machine and slow / speed-up the projector!
It all seems crazy now but I really want to save some of my dads old work and put it on DVD for the family. There is tons of it and unfortunately when my dad passed away in 98 the Akai either got skipped or sold at a car boot
Can anybody help me in the UK?
