I haven't seen anyone mention this here, and I only found out about this today (baaad PR!!!)!

On Thursday (yes two days from now) and Friday this week Malmö Symphonic Orchestra will perform their second video/computer game concert - the first one being the free one during Malmöfestivalen last year. Sara and I are having dinner before the concert, and then hooking up with some friends afterwards. We'll see if we can sort some kind of after-concert-pub-thing.

Anyway, I'll see you there! :)

Great concert! Good selection of tracks, even though I've not played some of the later titles yet. I think it was fun both for the audience and the orchestra, as it really wasn't the "usual group/kind of people" listening.

Two things bothered me though:
1. I was surrounded by kids in pre or early teens, and towards the end of the concert they started to get ants in their pants and couldn't sit still. Kids of today! Pfff! ;) They even left during the standing ovation, which is a bit of an insult to the people on stage. Aw well.

2. I'm fairly sure I'm not wrong here, but with a reservation that my ears may have failed me, they consistently played one note wrong in the lead melody of Way of the Exploding Fist. (I'm nitpicking I know!) ;)

None the less it was a great evening, and I managed to run into, and have brief chats with both Fluke73 and Max Levin. Except them I really didn't see anyone I knew.

Anyway, excellent evening! Hopefully they'll arrange more concerts like this, and considering they sold out both evenings I suspect they will. For the money if nothing else...

I'm glad I could rescedule so I could witness this pretty amazing show. I thought Orvar Säfström(the host) proved his point about the visuals; we really don't need no big screens where someone's recorded a play-thru of Super Mario on. I came to see an orchester perform videogame music live, and that's all I wanna pay for.
Had a little problem with brats in the audience aswell. One girl sat behind me and chewed on her fingernails. Saliva outside of mouth smells for radius, lil miss.
On the big plus the pianist played a flawless version of the victory-tune from Myth. How long wasn't it since I heard that tune?..
