'On the Edge' author interviewed
Episode 157 of the Linux Link TechShow (a weekly radio style show about GNU/Linux and Technology in general) includes a 90-minute chat with Brian Bagnall, author of "On the Edge: The Spectacular Rise and Fall of Commodore". Brian even mentions the SID remixing scene.

New submission system on AmigaRemix.com
Finally, the long-awaited release of the new submission system on AmigaRemix.com is a reality.
The system has been totally rewritten from scratch and should make it easier for both the submitting arranger as well as the spankin' new jury which will judge the entries as they are submitted.
The aim of it all is to get things going on the Amiga-side of the scene and since there are a lot of potent remixers out there, the future is bright and we're looking forward to a new generation of Amiga remixes coming along.
So, if you're a remixer, go ahead and submit your remixes to the site and if you're a listener, look forward to hear some nice stuff in the future.

MindCandy Vol. 2: Amiga Demos
The long awaited sequel to the MindCandy PC demos DVD has been released, containing 30 of the best Amiga demos. The demos have been recorded and optimised scene-by-scene from various original Amiga machines to preserve optimum image quality.
You can choose of 3 audio tracks, one containing the original Amiga sound, another one a remastered Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack, and finally an audio commentary by either demo authors or the MindCandy editors for interesting background.

New Commodore 64 Orchestral Medley!
From PLAY! A Video Game Symphony:
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., November 21, 2006 - Jason Michael Paul Productions, Inc. announced today that PLAY!, a symphony concert world tour with music from a catalogue of blockbuster video game titles will come back to the city of Stockholm, Sweden with two concerts on Saturday, June 2, 2007. After the great success this year, PLAY! will return to Scandinavia with an all new show.
Highlights of the concerts include the world-premiere performance of the monumental FINAL FANTASY VI - DANCING MAD presented by full orchestra, choir, pipe organ and rock band. Video game titles CASTLEVANIA, THE ELDER SCROLLS IV: OBLIVION, SHADOW OF THE COLOSSUS, THE REVENGE OF SHINOBI and THE DARKNESS by Swedish game developer Starbreeze will be a part of the shows as well.
As a special surprise for European fans PLAY! will feature two brand-new medleys of music from Commodore 64 and Commodore Amiga classics, supervised by game music experts Chris Abbott (BACK IN TIME album series) and Jan Zottmann (IMMORTAL album series). Details to be announced shortly.
The concerts in Stockholm, Sweden are taking place on Saturday, June 2, 2007 at 3 PM and 7:30 PM at the prestigious Stockholm Concert Hall and will be accompanied by the attendance of video games composers from all over the world. The music will be performed by the famous Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra and a chorus conducted by Grammy Award-winning artist Arnie Roth. The Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra will also treat the audience with some specially selected highlights from their traditional repertoire.
Says Jason Michael Paul, producer of PLAY!, "We are excited to return to Stockholm. We have added new visuals, and new orchestrations to be performed for the first time as part of PLAY!. A concert event and cultural phenomenon not to be missed!"

Tickets will go on sale on Monday, November 27, 2006 at 11 AM and can be purchased through the Stockholm Concert Hall box office and online at Ticnet.se.

RKO gets BitTorrent mirror
Obviously making a name for himself by pooling enough money for 64 Bacardis on the Rocks at the recent SLAY Gathering in order to celebrate Romeo Knights most excellent Bionic Commandos remix isn't enough for all around nice guy and wacko extraordinarie, Mark "Misser" Visser. Now he's gone and set up an unofficial BitTorrent mirror for the entire set of files from RKO. The archive is current as of October 25th 2005, with updates 4 yearly updates being planned.
The brilliant thing about BitTorrent is that the more people that join in on a download, the better the network performs. So if you've got some spare upstream bandwidth and want to help spread the tunes, please seed the files for as long as you can.

PPOT concert in Copenhagen, 2nd Dec 2006
Yes, it's true: Finally we can announce a genuine upcoming public PRESS PLAY ON TAPE live performance in Denmark. On Saturday December 2nd (so that foreign people can attend too) we will headline a concert in Copenhagen's coolest rock venue The Rock located in central Copenhagen.
Support band is to be announced.
Spread the word, gather your friends, girlfriends, collegues, old demo group members, and come join us for a rocking trip down memory lane. We expect to see YOU there! After the concert the place will be turned into a night club so you can party through the night with us (oh yes, we'll be there!) ROC=K ON!
Important note: The few times we have played a public concert in Copenhagen either the tickets were sold out rapidly or doors closed because of too many people at the venue! So plan ahead, buy tickets sooner than later, and get your friends to do the same -- otherwise you might miss it Wink We do not make money on the amounts of tickets sold, we just want to have a fun night with as many people as possible.
Tickets will soon be, if not already, available at billetnet.dk and they sell internationally too. Price is 80 DKK + charges. See here:

Post-X2006 Fleming Show with lots of new SIDs and remixes on SLAY Radio
On SLAY Radio, Tuesday, October 17 at 20:00 CET, Andreas 'Morpheus' Wallström and his trusty sidekick John 'Ziphoid' Carehag will bring you a post-X2006 Fleming Show following the event in the Netherlands this last weekend.
The show will feature a party report and also lots of new SIDs from well-known composers such as Jeroen Tel, Drax, Hein and Chapelier and remixes of those SIDs by remixers such as Jeroen Breebaart, Makke, Hazel, Markus Schneider, Dafunk, Moog and Markus Holler.
The new SIDs have been especially made for the demo Let's Scroll it! released by C64.com, which also boasts with scrolltexts from over 70 people from the C64 world. Names such as Rob Hubbard, Ben Daglish, Jonathan Dunn, Richard Joseph and Markus Schneider appear amongst them, to name a few.

Renoise Beta 1.8 available
Renoise have just released a new Beta version, 1.8, for registered users! The top new features are:
Renoise is a "Tracker" style music composition application, Makke and Trace being just two of the glitterati that use it. A trial version is available to try it out - well worth it if you have an Amiga background and are used to the "tracker" way of composing music (where each column is a track and notes are entered "programmatically").
