Hyperbased - Enigma: Very Good

alexh shouts: A great song in it's own right but I think it's lost a little in translation.

Review by alexh: It is a good remix but it is not really in the same style as the original. A very right wing remix. Still very good. I prefer the original though. The bass is deeper and samples more crisp. The vibrato quite different. It looses something of the original in the translation.

I was hoping for a 21st century version of A Final Hyperbase and I think I got a 22nd century version! It grows on you though. Slightly better than the version by Virgill

Review by putzi: Technical: some too strongly seperated channels or compressor too strong (when the base-drum kicks in from 0:58 to 1:14). Bass far too loud (I recommend Lagerfeldt's R-Type-remix as technical reference on a perfect mix), while synth-line drowned by the bass. The synths are very sweet sounding and well chosen.

Artistry: true to the original.

Nostalgia: close to what I imagine when listening to the original SID-tune, so perfect nostalgia here.

Review by skyrunner: Great, thats just teh shit. Just the last days I was listening to the other remixes of this tune (of course there are already some good ones but…), wishing there would be a version like this one.

While freaking out, it suddenly was over at 1:30 playtime. wtf? You can't be serious?!

I felt like a child whose lollipop got stolen. ^^

Of course I know the original is only 1:30, too but nevertheless…

So, to show my disappointment its only a grey face at artistry, although its clearly a red one too like the other both categories.

No one with some common sense could really critisize Amoks technical skills. ^^

Although sounding modern (of course) Amok catched all that nostalgic feeling. Will fit that 3d remake perfectly. I'm looking forward to that game too.
