As presented live on SLAY Radio by Neil Carr on sunday night, here are the results for Remix64's ROTY 2005 awards.
Congratulations to everyone who made it onto the lists. And especially to Makke - he was voted #1 in four categories, including Remixer Of The Year. An unprecedented success in 5 years of ROTY awards - 2005 definitely was his year. The swedish a capella ensemble Visa Röster made it to #1 as best newcomers. Funnily there were shared #1 ranks in the categoreis "Best c64 Remix" and "Best Amiga Remix". Romeo Knight's "Speedball" and "Artura" by Makke & Andreas Wallström shared the c64 top with 30 points each. The top position for best Amiga remix was shared by Paul Blackford and AmiGamer, both scored 10 points for their versions of the same Turrican tune "The great bath"! Chris Abbott received the reward for years of hard work and service for the remixing community - he was voted #1 for the Lifetime Achievement Award. With a formidable score of 110 points, Boz clearly made it to the top as "Best Radio Personality". On behalf of the team, thank you everybody for taking part in the voting!

Funny how time flies - today it's five years since the official launch of RKO. That's five years of c64 remix goodness. A great cheers to Jan Lund Thomsen who made this all possible and formed the foundation for Remix64 and its community.

| To be on top | 16/09/2005 |
|
Remix scene veteran Makke along with Andreas Wallström (Morpheus / Flash Inc.) have managed to top the Remix64 all-time charts with their amazing Irish Folk style remix of Ben Daglish's "Artura".
Six weeks after its release, the remix has installed itself on #1 with a clear 96%. For almost one year, Glyn R. Brown's "Rastan" had held the top position unchallenged. His latest release "The Recovery" has already climbed to #4 though, so it still might come to a head to head race... ![]() |
