Game Over RIDEs charts 23/01/2004
A dance track - "RIDE" by Chable and Bonnici - has been making a splash, and now features on the Ministry of Sound's "Clubbers Guide 2004" (disk 2, track 20). The special thing about this track is that it's based on Martin Galway's "Game Over": as a quick listen to the bassline will tell you. This was due to an agreement between us and the publishers of this tune to use Martin's bassline.

A quick glance at the page will reveal one of the artists claiming credit for the bassline: although the bassline is a modified version of the Game Over tune, it's still Game Over. So we're a little peeved at the record label for that, especially since they didn't bother to pass the Galway credit onto the Ministry of Sound: so he's not mentioned in the booklet. It's stuff like that which really p*sses you off about the music industry.

Project Norman pre-announced 23/01/2004
The next in the "Project" series from C64Audio.com will be "Project: Norman". This will be an entirely different kind of beast to "Project: Galway", since the two composers are very different people: but the choice of content will be Paul's alone, and nothing is off-limits! The highlights of the CD may well be a full Aztec Challenge 2 game, and an orchestral cover of Super Huey, as well as other surprises!

As part of Project: Galway, parts of Martin's mysterious past come to life! Here's a great video presentation by Kenz and Boz listening to a 7" vinyl of one of the tracks that Martin covered. It's a must-see!

Important new feature: Alternative Download Source 09/01/2004
To arrangers: You can now specify alternative download sources for your remixes at Remix.Kwed.Org and AMIGAremix. That means: People can still download your remixes from Remix64, even if the above sites are down (which is the case, currently).

This system will propably be expanded in the future, so you will be able to have your tune take part in the Remix64 charts, even if it has been rejected at RKO or AR. The catch: You'll have to host the tunes yourself. Discuss this at our "General Conversation" messageboard.

Submit your alternative download URLs at the "MyRemix64" section NOW. :-)

RKO News 15/12/2003
According to Jan: "Yes, RKO and a lot of other quality services hosted by the stenstad.net guys has been offline since December 5th due to a knackered system disk. Baffle has been too swamped with work to fix it. But he assures me he'll get on to it eventually, sooner rather than later. "
