Chris Abbott becomes Remix64's new Editor 25/05/2003
Today, I appoint Chris Abbott to Remix64's new editor after Neil Carr's recent resignment. I respect Neil's decision, and I wish to thank him for two years of an excellent job as our editor. Neil, I wish you all the best for the future, and hope you'll still find the time to contribute to our little site now and then. Best of luck to you, friend!

I've talked to Chris about taking on the job, and I am certain that he will do it expertly. Chris has deep insights into the SID-Remixing world, and the ability to express things clearly yet entertaining. Therefore I'm glad that he accepted, and I'm looking forward to this collaboration. Welcome aboard, Chris!
:)

I regret to inform you. 18/05/2003
Remix64 has become a very successful venture over the last 2 years and i'd like to think my part of making remix64 has been a slight factor to this. However over the past year i've had to deal with many personal problems which have lead to severe depression, amongst other things. Tho seeming to make a good recovery for a short while, if slowly found myself sinking deeper into depression than ever before, to the point where every day life has become very difficult to cope with. Tho, before i have suggested that i will leave remix64, but then had a change in mind, i have taken many weeks to come to this decision and i feel that for the good of my own mind is that i take a back seat and relinquish my position as Editor of remix64. I will stay part of the website, but in more of a background role in the future (A very background role).

Remix64 volume 2 is under no threat and my work with the CD will remain as focused now and while the product is ongoing. However, i can catagorically say that the series will come to an end after this CD.

I would welcome and encourage anyone who wishes to take my place as editor to contact Markus Klein. But please only offer your services if you are commited.

I applogise to the Staff list at remix64 that i haven't spoken to them while making this decision first. I no longer wish to be part of remix64 in the extent i have and wish for it not to be discussed.

Over the months, you will notice that i become even less involved as others take my place which eventually will see me as the odd contributor.

May i extend my appologies to Markus at this point and wish that remix64 does continue and maybe even better than ever with new personnel. I make this decision for the good of my health and no single person can be held responsable. It's just a job that i cannot find in me any longer and the pressure's of everyday life are too much for me to be able to take anymore without needing to be concerned about such hobbies that have become more stressful than enjoyable.

Good Night,
Neil

C64Audio.com has paid over £20000 to composers since 1998! 13/04/2003
C64Audio.com announces it has now paid over £20,000 in total to SID composers since the first remix CD release in 1998 ("Back in Time 1")

This represents the lion’s share of the profits on the CDs, with the rest being spent on live events such as "Back in Time Live", investment in more CDs, and equipment to produce better remixes.

C64Audio.com releases C64 remix CDs for the good of the original composers, and this figure was made public to highlight that support.

C64Audio.com is also using its time and resources for composers such as Rob Hubbard, Ben Daglish and Martin Galway in protecting their work from unauthorised commercial usage like Zombie Nation, and in encouraging the music world to take more notice of C64 music and the SID sound: a strategy will see C64-related albums and singles coming from other record labels by the end of the year, around the world.
