Story

I never thought to venture into remixing this classic masterpiece from Andrew Barnabas.. I mean, how could you ever hope to make it any better or vastly different that would sound just nearly as good? But after reading an interview with Andrew where he mentions all the feedback he got in regards to the out of tune pieces in he’s track, I began noticing the flaws (Funny that I never really noticed them before, properly because the tune was engrained in my brain from an early age). I downloaded the .mod and played around with the samples and suddenly I couldn’t stop. I began by recreating the tune and trying to fix the flaws, I ended up reusing a lot of the old samples but added some of my own stuff (about 50/50) and this is the result. I had a blast making the track and if you get hit by the nostalgia bat when listening! Then mission accomplished 😊. I know the mixing is horrible and that is one of the things I have to work on. So sorry in advance if your ears bleed, but hopefully the nostalgia will make up for it.

The mixing could be so much better...
The nostalgia is there... With a raspy, tin-can sound...

.., but the mixing isn't that well done and it has a background hiss that puts me off. While boasting an interesting choice of instruments that has big potential this remix is not that inspired. With a few tweaks it could be a lot better. Oh, and again this is one of the classic shoot-em-up tunes that has ONLY ONE remix submitted. Come on people... (updated 10 feb / 2018)
