Turrican II - The Great Bath

I know, remixing Turrican 2 themes isn't too original, but the smashing soundtrack just seems to scream "remix me" 
The Great Bath is one of my fave songs in this game, so I decided to give it a try. At first I created my remix without any beat at all (didn't think a beat would go well with it) but in the end I wasn't sure if drums/bass wouldn't add to íts attractivity, so I made a compromise... a remix that has a beat included, but only at about half the length of the song. ;)

When I saw that I was in the AmigaRemix top ten with this piece, I could hardly believe it! Reading all these supportive comments really makes my day... it's people like you who keep musicians like me going!

REVIEW BY xonder (28/09/2005) This is in my opinion easily the best Great Bath remix hitherto. The instruments feel just right, as does the mood (at least until the drums begin). I particularly enjoyed the flute and the choirs/strings. In my opinion the drum section seems pretty much out of place, though. As far as I'm concerned The Great Bath is nothing about rhythm, but all about melody and harmony. The melody carries itself very well without need of a drum beat. But apart from that I have very little to complain about. All the harmonies are 100% true to the original, unlike many other The Great Bath remixes. Great work! |

chosc shouts: Great Music. You used nice instruments and it sounds very artistic. Especially good are also the drums which fit perfect to the Piece of music. _steve_ shouts: Great remix with some excellent instruments used. The drums do need a little work though, particularly the kick, which could do with being less frequently played. deadly_cookie shouts: Very good. Drums are a bit out of place but you are talented. Nice sounds... difquin shouts: Made tears trickle down my cheeks. Pure nostalgia... superturbo shouts: Nice, nut I dont like the drums at the end of the song. Sounds kinda out of sync!
dimmignatt shouts: The drums really dont fit this one at all.. Nice build up, but I guess everyone does this remix in this way.. Even us.. Well.. Not special with this one. Mister Ghostie shouts: Great arrangement and really nice sounds! mrdirectx shouts: Good work!^_^
