Magic Disk Issue 09/90 (Human BB Remix)
This tune is by Markus Schneider but has for quite some time appeared incorrectly in HVSC under Thomas Detert.
The remix excludes the first part of the original SID and instead concentrates on the main theme.
The human beat box was done by yours truly to add a fresh element to the remix.
Technical notes
The remix was done using Logic Audio Platinum 6.x and a variety of software and hardware instruments including EMU E4XT sampler, Yamaha CS6R, Roland JV-2080, Emagic ES2, Clavia Nord Rack 2, and more. Mixed in Logic Audio and on the VM7200 digital console. Mastered with T-RackS24.

REVIEW BY craigg (22/07/2003) Lagerfeldt's entrance into the C64 remix scene continues to yield positive results, with this chunky version of Detert's original. Combining a C64 sound-a-like lead, beatbox vocal effects, and production values to make you weep (in a good way), it remains faithful to the original's melodies, but updates the sound, giving the track some much-needed life. While the original is hardly one of the best-known SID pieces (or one of Detert's best compositions), give this remix a try if you simply want to hear a good tune. |

REVIEW BY DHS (28/07/2003) Ok, also for this i dunno the original tune (sorry Markus).I can't really make any observation about the technical quality, 'cos i'm a beginner confronted to Lagerfeldt  The tune is very well crafted, the only thing i don't like is that it's too much SID sounding. I think there's little meaning in making a remix of a sid tune, using up-to-date instruments to make them sound like a sid. Sorry, just my 2 cents. That's anyway only my thougts, all in all the tune is very very good. |
