REVIEW BY xonder (02/07/2004) I must say I was quite disappointed with this orchestral remix of Chris Hülsbeck's Gem'X tune. The choice of remixing Gem'X was good, though, in my opinion, as I consider it to be a nice sid tune, rather well-suited for an orchestral arrangement. What I don't like about it is that Markus has changed a lot of Chris' original harmonies (blasphemy!) and replaced them with his own, which in my opinion don't fit in nearly as well as the ones in the original. Chris Hülsbeck's harmonies should just never, ever, ever be tampered with, as they are always perfect to begin with. I would have given this one a lot higher overall grade if Markus would have stuck with the original harmonies rather than choosing to use his own. Too bad!  |
