1942 High-Score Theme ("You Were There") is based on some lyrics that I wrote way back in 1986 when the game came out. I'd almost forgot about them until I found an old tape recording that I had done with a friend, with an altered version of the lyrics.

This version drips with irony! You have a lounge-singer who thinks he can sing well, singing about a love that is tragically cut short, which then gets backed up with a Louis Armstrong-a-like singing "What a wonderful world" in the instrumental section. Add to that a cameo appearance by Sanxion, some comedy-style sound effects and a tired and emotional M.C.Splonge at the end and you have "You Were There!"
