Story Behind the Song: When I was a teenager and got a copy of the game Commando for my C64, I was immediately stunned by the great music. Rob Hubbard who did the music for that game had really made a master piece of it. Now I made my own remake of it in my little home studio. This is the result. Enjoy!

REVIEW BY tomsk (11/10/2003) There's something about this mix. Ask me if i'd thought the style suited commando and I'd have said no way. But this tune just bops along, and soon you'll bop with it. Special mention to the drums and bass, very original and I suspect they hook a lot of people into this jolly version. It's old now, but still it gets a play from time to time because it's one of those tunes that I can't help but enjoy. In 2001 this would warrant an orange smiley, but standards have increased so much - maybe I should have reviewed this back then. Having said that I'm still listening to it - that's a great acheivement as a lot of tunes show their age with-in a year or so. Good work ! |

REVIEW BY LaLa (03/02/2003) The beginning is very promising with some cool sounding drums, then it slowly builds up with very synthy instruments - and that is where it became less impressive. This build-up just stops when the main melody-line comes in. I have to say, I am very impressed with the final mixing of this remix, though. Musically, it`s not as good as the opening bars suggested to me, but it has a cool bouncy feeling to it and it`s worth listening to. |
