Post-ROTY2020 Thank you!

<br>A big thank you to all the remixers, listeners and contributors who made the past year better with their presence and help for the scene in any way! The ROTY 2020 Awards was hosted by <strong>ziona, Boz</strong> and <strong>Slaygon</strong> on <strong>20th February 2021</strong>. 2020 was the most active year since 2008 so we had a lot to talk about! See the graph about the activity over the years: <img src="images/roty-stats-graph2020.png" alt="ROTY activity statistics" style="max-width: 500px; float: right; margin-left: 15px; margin-top: 15px;" /> We did a recap of each month, covering C64 and Amiga remixes talking about the top 10 tracks, highlighting one from each RKO and Amigaremix. In-between the recaps, the awards got presented. <strong>THE WINNERS</strong> - Best Newcomer: <strong>Ctrl-Z</strong> - Best Veteran: <strong>Peter Clarke</strong> - Best Amigaremix: <strong>Peter Clarke - Space Harrier</strong> - Best C64 Remix: <strong>Peter Clarke - Space Harrier</strong> - Lifetime Achievement Award: <strong>Vincenzo</strong> - Remixer of the Year: <strong>Peter Clarke</strong> The big winner, <strong>Peter Clarke</strong> felt delighted, surprised and humbled by the <strong>4 awards</strong> - the community voted for him by a sizable margin. The previous and the only other time in the history when a remixer won 4 awards was Makke in 2005. It was also the first time the same song won both the C64 and the Amiga remix categories. Well done, Peter! The <strong>Lifetime Achievement Award</strong> went to <strong>Vincenzo</strong>, who is an exceptionally active and supportive Veteran remixer and demoscene musician, both on PC and C64 scene, who has been around for about 22 years, an organizer and sound-guy of a tremendous amount of parties, member of countless demogroups with over 100 releases, nearly 100 SIDs in HVSC and 21 listed remixes. The reason for the Arok Tribute Remix Competition last year was also mainly his idea. Remixer of the Year Awards Show 2020

Remix64 20th Anniversary Remix Compo

<img src="images/r64_20ya_1500x1500.png" width="25%" height="25%" style="float: left; margin-top: 14px; margin-right: 20px; margin-bottom: 10px;"> Remix64.com will turn 20 years old on April 17th, 2021, and we thought what better way to celebrate this momentous occasion than by inviting the collective talent of the C64 and Amiga remix community to participate in an online competition! <strong>The compo entry rules</strong> are fairly simple: Your entry should be a remix of a <strong>SID tune</strong> (found in the latest HVSC) or of an <strong>Amiga game tune / MOD </strong>- or both. Basically, the same submission rules apply as on <a href="https://remix.kwed.org/" target="_blank">Remix.kwed.org</a> and on <a href="https://amigaremix.com/" target="_blank">AmigaRemix.com</a>, including rules related to file format (MP3, 192 Kbps/44Khz or better). Your remix should be a <strong>new, never before published</strong> piece. Your remix should be <strong>no more than 5 minutes</strong> in length. Multiple entries per remixer are allowed, but please, keep in mind that the compo organizers reserve the right to reject entries. The deadline for entries is <u><strong>April 2, Friday, 23:59 Central European Time</strong>.</u> NOTE: to be able to submit an entry <u>you must be a registered user on Remix64.com</u>.
