Re: R.I.P. DJ Skitz

You always managed to put a smile on my face just by being in the same room. For that, the lowest base ever produced on RKO and for the gentleness that you radiated, I thank you.

Rest. You deserved it.

Re: KORG nanoKEY Slim-Line USB Keyboard - soooo cute!

I bought myself the NanoPAD a while back for 59 euros. It's such a cool little thing to have for it's price! It's not perfect, tho. The velocity curve can be set to a couple of common presets, but the sensitivity itself cannot be changed. And in my opinion, it's a bit too sensitive to be able to hav...

Great documentary for anyone who is into making music

Just a quick pit stop to advise anyone who is involved in music making to watch the highly informative and entertaining documentary series "How Music Works" by Howard Goodall, available at mvgroup.org. Episode 1: Melody Episode 2: Rhythm Episode 3: Harmony Episode 4: Bass Well worth the wa...

Re: Game music

Of course there are a lot of gr8 game tracks out there. But good enuf music to play a shitty game for?
Well, Crazy Comets was definitely one of them. The game didn't captivate me all that much, but the music...

Re: How do you hit the right notes?

by ear as much as i can, for the more difficult parts i'll sid to midi it or see if anyone else did a mod/med/xm of it and have a look at that. I also find the getting drunk method works a treat too, seems im not the only one lol. Indeed! Coz ear and beer... Well, it differs just one letter, see? W...

Re: How do you hit the right notes?

When arranging, I always play the SID as wave along with my remix to make sure I've got the right notes. It can be a very time consuming and frustrating method. I find it to be good though, not only for getting the right notes, but also to get a feel for the melody and the song. Add some beer and s...

Anybody feel like singing? (Makke?)

Been trying to recreate a track from the 80's a while back. For some Reason(4.0), Makke popped into mind while listening to it one lazy sunday afternoon. Remembering that awesome "Retardi" T-Shirt of his, A0d of the Subversive Elements even came up with some lyrics for him: "Your keyb...

Re: Tron goes non-unz

Updated above link! It's turning out to be a weird one. Now all I need is some record crackles. What VST are you using for the lead? Mate, I don't even know what a VST looks like! Really! Some say I should check these VST things out some day... ;) It's all Reason4. The lead and bass sound I designed...

Tron goes non-unz

This is still a WIP... Meh, it's not even a WIP. It's a try-out and I have no clue how to tackle the second (4/4) part.

Re: Should C64Audio.com try the "Radiohead" model?

Yeah, well... Anywayz. My opinion: No I've been thinking loooooong and hard about the matter of c64audio.com and reading some of the posts in several threads. So far I've seen good attempts in guessing why sales haven't been up to expectations. Expectations being also a part of the equation. But it ...

Re: Re:

I have been considering using Side-Chaining on my compressor to "duck" the music automagically when I talk but it would mean a major change in the way I DJ and at the moment I tend to just use my mixer sliders to duck the music manually if I want to talkover a loud piece of music.. Ooh, v...

I thought it was great that U showed up at the pub, Slaygon. Even if it was for a short moment. The reaction of all the ppl there showed pretty much what I was thinking too, so no need to elaborate.

Take care of UR ass, Slaygon. Get well soon, and while UR @ it, enjoy the morphine!

Signifficant difference indeed, Tonka. I'm almost embarassed that us geeks didn't figure this out sooner.

How about modding our 64s?
Drill a hole, cram in a simple switch that internally grounds the audio in, and label the switch "Vintage on/off".
