Re: The production of the loudness wars.

I really struggle to get my volume levels right at mastering... I think I've got them all at a correct level, then I listen to my tracks alongside others and feel mine is quieter and needs the volume turned up by comparison. It's a real pain, and I just don't know how to get it "right" ! :/

Re: C64: Mass Effect

Thanks again! Dont think I can get my head around those C64 trackers tho.. I'm spoilt now by gui's and windows interfaces! did a final update to my project after finding someone else's nice little 8-bit take on the "Galaxy Map" music from the game: [youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E...

C64: Mass Effect

Well.. not really.. but for the C64 30th anniversary celebrations on twitter/fb/g+ I made these mockups :D I created the "loading screen" and after talking to my twitter mob about what the C64 game might be like (300 floppy disks?) I hypothesized that it would 360 scrolling/flipscreen over...

There I was, ambling through the "Purgatory" nightclub on the Citadel, all business-like as my Cmdr. Shepard is as normal.. when all of a sudden I notice there be C64 SID in the air :D http://kate-z.unospace.net/purgatory.jpg Spoiler free link to the music here: http://www.youtube.com/watc...

Re: Tusker Redux

do you know? I've hardly used it so far. Piping in external audio is a bit of a chore versus just dealing with VSTi's and samples. I like knowing its there though as a base of instruments :)

Tusker Redux

Hi all, Thought you might be interested in my rework of my previous Tusker (first level) arrangement - I wasnt entirely happy with the original soundmix, and after learning some awesome things from Putzi I remastered it, and re-did the latter third which I wasnt happy with either. Re: Space Debris (Spacesynth Remix) by Captain

Oh I *loved* the original piece! I was seriously considering doing an arrangement of it, but nothing beats the original composer's work! :) His arrangement's got a real retro sound about it, reminds me of "Laser Dance" stuff. Fab, gotta love those Amiga "Odyssey" style brass parp...

Re: Remixer Of The Year 2011

Thanks to all those who voted for me - was a really big suprise! - that my divisive collaboration with Anna was so popular, and I love the irony of the split votes between the vocal/non-vocal version - talk about divisive, lol.

Thanks again to those who voted for me :) x

Re: Marriage in Heaven - Tetris meets her man

Progressively listening to it Chris (and Darren) - its... beautiful. I may not agree with many of the instrument choices (but then for 2000 I imagine it sounded bang-on) .. but the feel is captured.. hairs on the back of the neck stuff.. makes me want to cry listening to it lol :) Would it be very c...
