Re: R.I.P Ben Daglish

We attended Ben's memorial yesterday, and it was a good send-off for him - with laughter and music. Representing the C64 and Amiga - Chris Abbott, Marcel Donné, Rob Hubbard, Tony Crowther, Mark Knight, Max Hall and Jackie Mason, with Jon Hare giving a short memoir about Ben's computer music. Thank ...

Re: Back In Time Bergen 2018

Indeed! It was very obvious that everyone had an awesome weekend! I hope we can do this again some time! :D The only sad part was the rain, but at least you got to see Bergen from it's typical side :D I didn't mind the rain, but I very much missed Ben from the event: his enthusiasm, his passion, hi...

Back In Time Bergen 2018

It's 4am local time in Norway, the BIT Live event here in Bergen just concluded. What a fantastic 2-day celebration it was! I had so much fun and I have so many stories to tell... And I have pictures, too, but those will have to come later once I am back in the United States. I just want to drop a q...

Re: R.I.P Ben Daglish

Like many others, I became an admirer of his music back in the early 80s. I lived behind the Iron Curtain at that time, in Hungary, and I was in awe of his music when playing The Last Ninja, I listened to his tunes from the W.E.M.U.S.I.C. demos probably a zillion times, and I smiled whenever I heard...

Re: "JB" - Bjerregaard remix album to benefit Johannes and his family

Quick update. Here's an article about Johannes published a couple of days ago in his town's local newspaper: http://www.lubbockonline.com/news/20180922/cactus-pianist-diagnosed-with-colon-cancer-must-be-treated-in-denmark As you can read here, Johannes just flew to Denmark to start his chemotherapy ...

"JB" - Bjerregaard remix album to benefit Johannes and his family

All, As you may have heard already (e.g. here ), our beloved C64 musician, Johannes Bjerregaard has been diagnosed with cancer and needs our help. Lots of people have already made generous contributions on his GoFundMe page, and Johannes thanks everybody for their kindness! In addition, I thought it...

Re: Current State of Last Ninja remixes (top and least remixed)

Fascinating list! Thanks for putting this together! :-) One question, though: how did you determine which subtune a remix actually remixes? Because as ziona and Slaygon found out a few months back on their Slay Radio show, the subtune designations on RKO for remixes (especially older ones) are not a...

Re: The new Mobile layout for Remix64.com

Hey LaLa, thanks for your feedback! I guess it can't meet everyone's taste. Tas for example always liked Remix64 v1 layout best. The good news is, you can always go back to your favourite version of Remix64 :) Just bookmark one of the links on this page: http://www.remix64.com/remix64-design-histor...

Re: The new Mobile layout for Remix64.com

There are several aspects of the new layout of Remix64.com I like, I'm also all for responsive design, but the new "Vote" panel is not very convenient: Screenshot-2018-2-12 Last Ninja Theme (Grand Orchestra, c64 remix by Seaweed).png Either make the Shout and Review text entry fields wider, and/or m...

Not sure I like this "tall" main menu on the desktop. Running Firefox 58 in Win 10.

Spam problem

LMan,

The "General Conversation" board is getting overrun by spam (mostly Russian). Is there anything you can do to prevent that?

Thanks!

There is one other video which I did with him, if you enjoyed these two. The brief for this was ' Peter, you clearly know what you're doing, write a soundtrack'.. LOL

Re: Mission of mercy (Filmscore) Remix

@Doddsy.. There's a CS80 sample pack by Arturia. By all accounts it's good, (as long as you understand oscillators, filters and envelopes etc) and it's gonna be a fraction of the price of real CS-80. (in fact, I've just looked: 149 euros..) https://www.arturia.com/products/analog-classics/cs-80v I ...

Re: Mission of mercy (Filmscore) Remix

I did a soundtrack for a time-lapse video, for which the brief was 'I want Vangelis & JMJ' and I used the CS80 a lot in that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CwYTvkJv5n8 ...and just as an example of 99% orchestra samples and 1% synth: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bu3OHeKBOw4 Thanks for these lin...
