A few more 70s magazine pages..

There was some really interesting stuff in these publications: http://www.lemon64.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=735664#735664 Scroll up for previous bits I put here. I find it interesting that studio grade recording tape was only surreptitiously put the public's way, for a limited time only. Or only fou...

Re: So Hardware Synths are the best after all....

It's horses for courses. When you're inspired, you want something to grab and go, just work and be reliable, sound great and be adaptable.

It's more studios than performing where computers come in. People learned their lessons after too many crashes onstage, I suppose.

Re: Arranger HELP ME

They are quite right. You can't really 'unmix' a track. Not even with Melodyne. You can't unbake a cake, either. Like a cake, your mix is already made and cooked. You can clean up the audio and edit the dropouts and such. It sounds like you could do well using tools like spectral editors, plugins to...

Re: Falcon Patrol II diary.

Oh, that is so nearly there!

If I may recommend, try sourcing copies of SOUNDIRON HIGH SCHOOL DRUMS and, I think, CHRIS HEIN HORNS. CINEBRASS should be alright, too.

Those should push you all the way over.

Re: Falcon Patrol II diary.

I agree. My mind's eye - ear? - conjures up a marching band sound as opposed to something a bit Hollywood for a completed arrangement. I had a go with this music myself - results somewhere in my huge pile - and came up with a more Edwardian quartet thing, with violins and cello. It did actually soun...

Re: BBC Micro Ebay buy

And now the sequel. I'm having so much fun going back in time like this.

I doodled a few twiddly bits with some original chiptune makers.

I know you're there if you're watching! :)

BBC Micro Ebay buy

Well I am plunging into the other camp now. And it's wonderful to play with my old school buddy.

I'll have a bash at music.

Anyone else had a go?

No number one. Mine has a dod of water damage.

Had I known even these were collectable, I'd've bought two.

Re: Razmo's Gear Rant Thread...

Well those sound very lush, though things like that aren't my favourite sounds in a synth. A synth isn't a synth unless it buzzes, bloops, whines and rumbles. All synths should buzz, bloop, whine and rumble, just like the Commodore. hLE8EFVHLDY On that note, how come even expensive soundcards couldn...

Re: Post your home studio

And here's another look at computer corner. We see the undersides of Amigas, Yamaha DD12, Laserdisc player and 520ST; plus laptop server for the Super Nintendo. I really love how the disc drives slide out from the laptop for service, and I have a floppy drive which swaps over the CD Rom. So much mus...

Re: Post your home studio

Due to my Packard Bell Vista PC going wrong somehow, my cards keep vanishing and reappearing on the system. So I broke out the USB Sound Blaster Live - actually an Audigy in disguise - and found the sound quality's very solid, clear and high in session. No ASIO but even here, splitters on instrument...

Icade cabinet help or sale

Someone threw this Ipad game controller away, which I found on the way home. Is it easy enough to get at the buttons and wire them for use on my Atari, Commodore or Amiga? Failing that, someone may want it, sold as seen. I have no Ipad. http://s21.postimg.org/q1t6tbrar/P1010041.jpg Pics: http://www....

Re: What are you playing right now?

My Sunday game was a bit more straightforward than that, having booted the Turtles 2 preview level: http://csdb.dk/gfx/releases/21000/21352.png http://csdb.dk/release/?id=21352 It's a little clunky - bit of a button masher - and still far from a real arcade feel but it does the job enough for a dece...

Commodore 64 MUSIC SYSTEM minidoodles

Another nice pick off the Retro Shelf. http://s27.postimg.org/8o80m5txv/P1010028.gif I found I got surprisingly into this, not being a programming musician and all. Advanced Music System 's notator mode is, for me, too fiddly to flow with. But that's my fault. Though the regular version's lock-to-me...
