Mission of mercy (Filmscore) Remix

Hi all.. Been a while since I've been on the site.. or indeed, since I've really worked on any remixes.. Just wanted to announce my 2 new remixes which you can listen to on the remix64 website... and to clear something up about the MoM remix. It was never intended to be a FULL filmscore... (let's be...

Re: Bubble Bobble Rearrangification

Thanks for your compliments...
Now i'm wondering what game tune would lend itself to a swing makeover...
Have a listen to some of Rune-Bertil's stuff - lot of swing going on there..

Re: Bubble Bobble Rearrangification

Thanks for the comment, (and the shout) Andy... and Hello again! How do you feel about going back and redoing old tunes?? You rewriting what should have been there or is it like having kids? You remember being there but details are kinda sketchy:) It depends on the SID tune... Some of them, I can't ...

Re: What do you prefer VST or Hardware.

95% VSTi's for me at the moment.... It's convenience mainly I guess! I can sit down and compose/arrange fairly instantly on those days when I have an idea bouncing around in my head. The standard of sampled instruments has got better and better, mainly over the last few years. So much so that it's n...

Re: 8-bit machines limited to 64K RAM or less, said BBCtv.

I'm curious if this type of wizardry is done for modern games or if its even needed.... ...I think we had a 4-bit limitation and the best we could get out of it, which sounded cool, was the the bass line from "On the run" by Pink Floyd. Fun times. 3 reasons we don't actually need that kin...

Re: 8-bit machines limited to 64K RAM or less, said BBCtv.

In DOS, an accessible memory "window" could be mapped to pass-through otherwise unaccessible extended RAM. In a similar way, most of the C64 games we know and love would have been much poorer if you could only use the RAM available as standard. 'BASIC' ROM occupied about 8k of the 64k but...

Re: Hmmm... Dried up?

Sometimes your c r e a t i v i t y is like a water pipe, (but the tap to turn it on and off is in your neighbour's house). :sadnod: You know that water DOES come out of it but you can't always control when it happens. Save the partial licks / riffs / songs & files for another day. If music is a ...

Re: Ocean Loader 3 (2 x NEW Remixes)

Oh NO! I can hear it too now..... Ha Ha. and I used to watch that in my teen years. You do realise that this could have deeper implications. all of the theme tunes from my dubious childhood and teenage television viewing could be manifesting themselves in my remixes. It would give away secrets about...

Re: Ocean Loader 3 (2 x NEW Remixes)

Thanks for the kind words Foxfield..... :) If you read my previous comments in this forum, you'll get the gist of how much I struggled with 'Reason'. So, here and now in Feb 2012, I'm 100% using Reaper 64 as my DAW, (Digital Audio Workstation). Unless anyone knows of another, it's the only 64 bit Se...

Re: REMIXERS - Full of talent or left wanting?

Ok! Warning! submission from 'an old composer'...... :) On one level, (and I guess this is unique to myself, Reyn, Jonathan Dunn and any others who have submitted remixes), you are tinkering with your own history and, to a certain extent changing the original to 'How you would have made it sound' gi...
