Re: Weird, funny & cool video-corner.

Tenacious D with Black Francis of the Pixies doing the Pixies classic "Oh My Golly".

They even do the intro to "Vamos" at the end, complete with accurate words and swearing. Maybe JB is a Pixies fan?

Re: Name that c64 tune....

The file name was a bit of a giveaway, but it's this one:

(The Wilderness, by Anthony Lees)

It's the opening bit that always identifies it.

Re: Retro Gamer article

As far as I remember, I don't have either issue 4 or issue 9 or I'd have scanned them in. Issue 4's article has been linked to earlier in this thread. It's well worth scanning issue 9 and providing a suitable citation. Retro Gamer magazine does have its own wiki article, incidentally. I think when q...

Re: PPOT Wikipedia article

Having read all the discussions, it's pretty clear to me that we need to be sensible and mature about this. Of course, we all know who PRESS PLAY ON TAPE are, and their well earned and well deserved reputation within the C64 remix scene, but outside of the scene is a completely different story, and ...

You mean this one in HVSC by any chance?

although I must admit I do prefer PRI's kick backside version:

World Games caber toss moment

I was having a nice walk around Urquhart Castle on Loch Ness earlier this week as part of my break in the Highlands, and came across this bagpipe player. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4089/4845950984_f2d80d0334_m.jpg Later on I could hear him from the far end of the castle and headed over, as I hea...

The Sword - The Black River

Standout track from their second album "Gods of the Earth", and their new album comes out later this year. I can even drum to this pretty well on medium level on Guitar Hero Metallica, too :)

Koud He?

In case you ever wondered of the most likely origins for Jeroen Tel's sample in the SID:

Hehe. I guarantee you'll be wanting to play the SID to have a compare and contrast session :)

Re: Firefox and Win 7

First off Dan, welcome back to the online world. Yaay! :) You'll have to tell me next weekend the whole story of being offline... Having used Windows 7 on some work machines with Firefox, I didn't notice any of the slowdowns that you've mentioned. Mind you, I had the 32-bit version of Windows 7, and...

Videogame Nation

Well, I finally managed to get to Videogame Nation at Urbis in Manchester, and I have to say it's well worth a visit. Highlights for me included: * lots of historical documents and sketches of storyboards etc related to Ocean games such as Wizball, Platoon, Vindicator, Gryzor etc * the video screen ...

Re: (name removed) please remove my tracks from your playlist

I will certainly remove nothing from our playlist as long as every track is available for free on RKO. Considering it's a polite request by the original artist, I would suggest that you rethink your position. Regardless whether a track has been made available on RKO for download or not, the origina...
