Cool. Is FireWire better than USB2.0 for low latency? The therotical data transfer rate is higher with USB 2.0 (480mbit/s = 60MB/s) compared with FireWire 400 (400 mbit/s = 50MB/s). Not everybody. Three months ago Rob Hubbard was still in analog world, most of my friends are still. So I try to find an allround solution, if possible. :wink:

Have you tried using Lame (or another) encoder with a Variable Bit Rate? I always avoided VBR since Windows Media Player Version 7 does not support it. And there are still many,many people using WMP instead of WinAmp or whatever. (I use WinAmp and it always drives me insane you can not save files. ...

Due to workflow I am using the integrated MP3 encoder from Steinberg's CuBase. I'll give LAME a go tonight and see what happens :wink:

Hi ! I have finished a new remix which has a duration of 07:30 minutes. Encoding to 256 kbit gives a file size of 15 MB. Encoding to 192 kbit gives a file size of 12 MB. Encoding to 160 kbit gives a file size of 10 MB. Encoding to 128 kbit gives a file size of 8 MB. I can hear the ones saying "...
