SID voices filled into STEM files for remixing - a test

Hi,

I'm a newbie to the 64 remix community. I was curious to learn if it makes any sense to fill the individual voices of a SID track into a multichannel audio file. The STEM audio file format allows for four tracks in one file. DJ software that supports STEM files then allows to mute parts of the voices or allows to put effects on some voices.

I would like to share a test mix that I made yesterday. I have to admit that I'm no expert in any of the tools involved.

In this example I have chosen 2 SID tracks for a mashup mix. For both SID tunes I have created 2 STEM files and for simplicities sake I have used the app DJ Player Pro on my iPad.

I have recorded the live mashup mix as a video. I would be happy about any feedback. I am currently not sure if the voice separation of SIDs into STEMs is really offering a new dimension of creative mixing. Maybe it's just breaking all the rules of the chiptine remix scene at once...

Tracks used in this mashup mix are:

1) LMan - Amazing discoveries (https://csdb.dk/sid/?id=57231)

2) Encore - Camel Ohio (2sid) (https://csdb.dk/release/?id=179169)

One of my problems while doing this mix was that I hardly hat time during the mix to mute/unmute the individual stem tracks due to being busy with other stuff.
