New soundcard

Post by Wavedancer »

Hi there.

I think I should replace my shitty onboard sound with a good, modern soundcard. But my knowledge got very bad in hardware with the time.
Then I saw an interesting card ... the features sounds very good to me. But the price is very high, too ;) ... Now, I want to know if this stuff is good :)

or what is it with this?

My Next Music PC Will have one of those as a SoundCard.

My Current one is a Nvidia Sound Storm Built into my ASUS MotherBoard and it works great. Its the reason I bought the particular Motherboard.

Oh no, in the meantime I hate the most of onboard sound. I had the C-Media 9761 on my AsRock K7NF2-RAID activated, the sound is ok for some players, the environment settings for some tracks are good, too. But I had problems with the sound drivers, so I build in my old Soundblaster Live! Value, played Chronblom - Gyroscope Remix (amazing techno sound :D) and I thought "Hey, where are my ears??? :o)". So ... no more onboard shit, only real soundcards.
Well, the SBLive is old (1998? 1999?), so I need a new one.

BTW: Would you tell me your equipment for your remixes?
Perhaps software, too? :)

Wavedancer: Both the cards you linked to are good buys. Do a search on http://www.soundonsound.com/, I think they have reviewed both of them.
