Human Race / Goldrunner

Post by kjetiln »

I was hoping to finish this before I travel home for my easter vacation, but I'm leaving in one hour so that wouldn't happen.

Instead I thought I could share what I have so far with you, and hopefully get some feedback for improvements. I'll continue to work on the tune in 2 weeks.

It's remixed to death before, I know that, but it's actually one of the few c64 games I actually played when I was a kid, though on the Atari ST, and I've always wanted to remix the tune. It's made in FL Studio, and using the wonderful Nexus plugin for about everything.. :)

overall very nice...

my first thoughts:

1. i miss a pad/string in the background
2. the 1st chords/lead are a bit loud

Wavedancer: Thanks! I guess I can't get a more positive feedback than that :)
Amok: Yeah.. I didn't include a pad on purpose, but since you mention it, maybe it would sound better if I include one.. and true, the sound is a little loud and distorted, I'm gonna fix that when I come back.

I agree with Amok on the loudness issues, and maybe there is a bit too much reverb on some of the instruments, but it sounds good so far.

Thanks
I've tried to correct the loudness problems as good as I could, and I've added a pad. And I changed the piano to have less reverb and be accompanied by some strings. I also cut out 30 seconds so it's now 5 minutes which should be more than enough, seeing I've only included two of the three parts of the original in this remix.

I've submitted it and it should appear among the new C64 remixes soon :D

I cannot understand, why some anonymous people give grey or even green smilies. At least they should write a comment...

I really like the track...

I am one of those who enjoy an occasional "unz", and I make them myself - and this one I like.
Maybe the beat drowns a bit at times, but nothing serious.
You do a lot of stuff to keep it interesting for a long time, and it works for me at least.
I like the direction you take it all from 3:40 and out, really good.
So a "Really Good" from me ... fellow norwegian and all :)

I totally agree with you Amok.. Some people seem to vote just because they don't like a certain style...

And yes, SkyMarshall Arts. My older remixes was too dull and boring because they lacked in variation. I have really tried to become better in that area, and think I show that in this remix :)

Thanks for the support, everyone!
