Anyone fancy remixing some Psytronik C64 tunes?

Post by Kenz »

Hi Chaps, chappettes (and Chapperz)!

As you may or may not know I resurrected my retro software label Psytronik Software last year and it's proving to be somewhat popular. Yay! There's some great games available for the C64 so I was wondering if anyone fancied remixing any tracks from the games ... Here's a list of the current C64 releases along with an idea of the style of music in the game (a couple of remixes are available already on RKO so I'll link to those):-

Sceptre Of Baghdad
Features an epic Arabian-esque in-game by FeekZoid (awarded 92% for sound by Commodore Force!) [RKO Remix]

Archetype & Cops 3
More cool music from Feekzoid [RKO Remix]

Sub Hunter
Cool new music from the Maniacs of Noise (would love to hear this remixed!)

PsykoZone
Grungy digi title tune from FeekZoid + the in-game tune is the Street Hawk theme!

Shoot 'Em Up Destruction Set
It's a compilation so there's lots of tunes here!

Escape From Arth - Special Edition
FeekZoid strikes again!

Mayhem in Monsterland
Loony title toony, cutesy in-game tunies.

Creatures
Needs no introduction ... !

Joe Gunn
Excellent "Hubbard in Egypt" type tunes.

Creatures 2
More Clyde Radcliffe cuteness!

Armalyte
Impossible to remix Martin Walker music ... or is it??

Knight 'n' Grail
Fantastic medieval music (Ghosts 'n' Goblins style title tune, atmospheric in-game tracks)

The Last Amazon Trilogy
Fantastic Matt Gray style tunes (inspired by Tusker) - I would love to hear some remixes of these tunes!

If anything tickles your fancy from the above list then send me a PM! There's free games up for grabs (after all, you'll need to hear the music in the games!), there's also the chance of your remix being used in a promo-video to promote the game on YouTube, and also being used in an upcoming free CD project AND being featured in a special One Man & His Mic Psytronik special show which is being planned for series 2. (Yep, OMAHM will be returning for a second series later this year!)

Cheers! :D

Talking of remixing Psytronik tunes, I've just produced a One Man & Hic Mic Psytronik Software Special which features some Psytronik remixes - you can read a "making of" here:-

Enjoy!

P.S. Series 2 of OMAHM *IS* happening! Soooooooooooooon!

Btw, had a chance to look at the OMAHM RSS feed?

I'll try to remember Psytronic as soon as I resume remixing. Now where did I put that sodding creativity? Must be somewhere.

Yeah, I noticed the feed wasn't working on the R64 frontpage. The feed is still online tho':-

http://feeds.feedburner.com/omahm

and here's the direct link to the xml:

http://binaryzone.org/podcast/feed.xml

Since feedburner was assimilated by Google I can no longer log into feedburner so I can't view the show stats or anything. Nice one Google.

Do I need to change or add anything to the xml page?

Yeah I sent you an email about it a while ago. The php class that parses the xml seems to be very picky about valid xml; it refuses to parse it. :) Curse you SimpleXML :bash:

Here's what the feed validator says:

http://beta.feedvalidator.org/check.cgi ... 2Ffeed.xml

Seems the closing </channel> tag is missing

Okiedoke, I shall tweak the xml code once I'm back in the Zone this weekend. :)

I'll also be updating the OMAHM page to add details about series 2 - for techno-buffs who are listening! 8)
