Hello fellow C64 fans. I finally tried my hand at remixing (add air quotes to the last word when it comes to my skills)! I got tired of waiting for a few songs to get the remix treatment as you guys do so well here, so a couple of days ago I bought a music editor and started playing around with my favorite old SIDs that have been stuck in my head for decades now.

Here's the result of an hour of poking around in the program with a SID tune from Dave Warhol - Realm of Impossibility (SID tracks 1 and 2 merged). These are more "remakes" than "remixes" at this point, and yeah, I used SID2MIDI for the notes.

And another favorite that I've yet to see on RKO (I'm feeling more comfortable with the music editing tool at this point) - Mail Order Monsters (OT but GB64 should list Tommy V. Dunbar and not "unknown" as the musician. His name is right on the box I own as having written the music/theme):

The original SID for ROI: http://www.gb64.com/sidplayer.php?GA_Id=6249

And for MOM: http://www.gb64.com/sidplayer.php?GA_Id=4558

Any suggestions of what to do next are welcome since I realize they are very barebones. :P

You can also use the mp3 tag:

Code: Select all

That second one's rather Rick Wakeman.

Interesting idea Commie User - I'll try to approximate Rick Wakeman's style (in the video) in my Mail Order Monsters tune. :) Gives me something to aim for.
