[WIP] Driller

Post by Sid-581 »

Hi everyone, I have finally started my Driller remix, although I've been wanting to do this for a while, I've only just got round to doing it. It is in it's very early stages, but would love your thoughts so far, you can listen to it here:

Please leave any constructive criticism, thanks.

Sounds good so far, though on second hearing my ears couldn't make sense of the rhythmic placing of the main riff against the bass. There's an offset there, and it's uncomfortable (though also clever, probably). That riff is a very powerful one, so you could do a lot with it in terms of filtering, different voices, vocoders saying "die driller", etc. Or whatever...!
Won't somebody PLEASE think of the children?

Very nice track, smooth sounding. That side chaining effect is a tad strong for my taste.

Thanks for checking out my remix, as for the sidechaining, I am going to bring the effect down a bit, so it's still there, but less prominent, will post further versions as soon as I have the chance to work on the mix some more.

Thanks again :)
