This looks great! I wish Mr. Wizball wasn't quite so psychotic looking, though...

Did we lose the other thread with the Remake links??

The question that I asked was, that I'm thinking of making my own remake and I'm not sure which direction to go, and you guys seem to be good with remake thing, I thought I could get some tips.

I'm kind of in the research phase right now, like what development route I should take there are so many out there. I dont want to start and mid way find out I cant continue because of a feature issue.

Thanks.

I guess it depends how good a programer you are,
If your like me and know bog all about programing i'd recomend using multimedia fusion 2(mmf) - http://clickteam.com/eng/mmf2.php
Its all point and click based and dead easy to use, i remade IO using it and it only took an hour or so to get the main engine done.

MF2 was suggested in another thread so I went ahead and ordered a book that comes with a Demo CD.

Can I PM or e-mail with if a you questions if you dont mind? I dont want bore everyone and Razmo. :)

I used to program C/C++ but as I get older I find I dont have the patients for it, so Point and Click would be nice.

Let me know if its ok and I'll PM you, dont worry no cyber sex... ;)

I'm just worried about if I talk too much about it in public, someone will run off with the idea and beat me to the punch... or is it safe??

Don't worry Analog- it's quite....(grabs pen and paper) safe. My all time favorite game to remake would be the old arcade game Jackal.

How do you make theese grafics this identical? Do you take the original game grafics and "polish" them? :D

Looks bloody GREAT! :D

The way I do it is to take the original C=64 Graphics and use them as a template than edit them using either Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop, I play around with different ideas and If I like a particular look, I than use built-in scripting called Actions to automate the process.

So once I figure out the end result/look. I can easily apply the effect to all levels.

The plan is to remake the original but bring the graphics and audio to 21st century standards... I've had this idea for a long time and it seems I was not the only one.. Here is a good example and inspiration. PSP Version of Impossible Mission.

Now thats a proper remake :)

Most of the gfx for wizball are drawn from fresh or build in 3d and rendered.
For some i took the c64 gfx and drew over the top to get the same shape.
