Awesome!!!... do you ever sleep? I dont know how you find the time to do all this.

I just got the latest copy of Retro Gamer in the mail and there is a mention that you helped make a sort of Retro Gamer game??

Thiking back to it, the version that I had must have been a hack, because instead of TRAP I think it read RAT and the demo itself was called The Drummer or something like that.

First time you load it up, the high scores are RATT (Tony Crowther's handle). So the text at the top reads RATT+TRAP, since RATT has the highest score...

"The Drummer" may have been the later Compunet advert, which added a second scrolly message to advertise the Compunet network...

Very nice indeed :D
on the scrolly ... i know what stu means about getting the music and animation to tie in.
try doing it when the two art packages you are using dont agree on how many frames are in a 30 second long 15 fps animation !
in the final section of my remake, i rendered the platform, planets and scroll text in Bryce.
i then imported that animation as a background into Poser as the spaceman points out his name and scratches his bum.
both were set to 15 fps and set to the same duration (76 seconds i think .. enough time to let all the text vanish off the top of the screen plus a few seconds over)
as you can see in the result, Poser decided that the animation was over before all the text vanishes!
there was about a 3 second difference between the two programs !

getting the 'head flash' section right was fun, i can tell you !

Smila and StuC, you have done a fantastic job :D

Thrust Demo in the snow ?
go on ! (without the snow  )

btw. for those who aint seen it, mine is on youtube Here

actualy it wasnt bad at all syncing stuff up.
we just wrote a program that recorded key presses real time , i just ran the c64 version and ours at the same time and copied what the c64 did-

then added a few more keys for different things happend (rockets, face, flash etc ) then had to get the speed of stuff right. only took us about 4 days todo i think.

Timing stuff in 3d is a mare, i did this one and it took me bloody ages - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rcuqY2H27Ro

try grabbing the trap demo from here, might be quicker - http://www.baa.ovine.net/trap/trap.htm

heheh...
mine took, on and off, 6 months.
during that time i had to learn how Bryce animated, learn Poser, learn how to use one in the other, discover that, at about the 4 month mark, my PC would crash/bsod/lock up/just reset its self whenever the sound card was used (yes ... this is when i was doing the 'head flash' part ... what fun ! this was the 'dead pc time' part mentioned in the credits)

I like the visuals so far... I'll have to re-boot my PC and try again... the sound of the drums and the arms coming down to hit them is off... basically I can hear the drum beats, before the hands actually make contact.

I'm sure its a timing issue with my PC.

I've worked with both of those programs and although they are pretty easy to use for Still Images, they are something else for animating. I saw you're YouTube video and that is very good for Bryce/Poser work.

Basically I got lazy and bought this name brand PC. I normally build my own from scratch with my own hand picked parts.

My Custom build PC's work better, than the pre-made stuff.

For those wondering its a Compaq Persario...pffffffffffttthhh.
