The most dreadful album(s) you ever heard

Post by Makke »

When I don't have anything better to do, which is amazingly often, I tend to look up cover versions of songs from my favourit artists on Spotify. This way I sometimes find new and exciting take ons of songs, and also find a new good artist or two I'd never heard of before. But as an added bonus, I also find a whole lot of absolutely dreadful covers, from no-talented twits who thought they'd take the fast lane to the stars (and make an easy buck) by covering an already famous song.

I got inspired to start this thread after hearing this absolute abomination (which I seriously advise you to take a listen to, as it opens up completely new and uncharted territory of most unspeakable shitieness).

Now I wasn't a fan of Gregorian chants to begin with, but this is just silly. Not only do I think this album pissed off god, but it most likely also made Freddy Mercury start turning in his grave at such speeds, his corpse is at risk of catching fire!

So please, have a listen at the link below, and do tell about your worst album experiences!

:bash:
WTF!
This doesn't have anything to do with "Gregorian"!
Some drunken twats with a _very_ cheap "church" reverb applied bawling to some free downloadable MIDI files!
OMG, one worse than the other....

Hey, Makke! Big fan here.

Anyway - yes that is incredibly awful. When I think of Gregorian I think of mournful sounding Monks, I don't think of a 50/50 split of cheerful men and women who sound like they gathered at the local church and burned a CD...but I guess it is possible to have women in a Gregorian Chant.

Here's something possibly worse: http://www.cduniverse.com/search/xx/mus ... p+Hits.htm

Note song #7 !!!

OMG! I love gregorian chants but this is an abomination of sound pressed on a CD!
If this was a karaoke event made by inexperienced singers ment as a parody, it would have been worth a cheap laugh but even then not for long because it's not good and not funny for a penny.

Makke,

I think I can beat the lot of them. This CD was so bad that I reviewed it on my website especially to pour scorn on it...

First link won't open up for me. I'm not sure if that's bad news or not.

I'm just shocked that they'd have a bunch of kids sing "Milkshake". The other "hits" are bad enough, but did they take the time to think about the lyrics....?

My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard
And they're like, it's better than yours
Damn right it's better than yours
I could teach you but I have to charge

I see you're on it
You want me to teach thee
Techniques that freaks these boys
It can't be bought
Just know things get caught
Watch if you're smart

La,La,La,La,La
Warm it up
La,La,La,La,La
The boys are waiting
La,La,La,La,La,
Warm it up
La,La,La,La,La
The boys are waiting

You hit the problem right on the head there. :?

A bit unrelated but same is with kids 'fashion' of pre-teen Lolitas. And there, I hope, it's only money fueled greed.

They thought the song was about "Milkshakes" that you get from Ice Cream shops.

Me too... I was shocked when I found out what "Milkshakes" really meant and it has warped my fragile little mind!
