It's the studio hospital now...

Bit of luck really....

An unwanted saline drip stand found in town will make a lovely mike or cymbal stand, or whatever. The hospital threw it away but all it needed was a new locking bolt on the neck.

Clean and resprayed, it's another handy find ready to roll. Good and sturdy studio bits don't have to cost the earth!

Gets better. I laid that carpet and made use of the other odds and ends I got this week. Hats off to Dawsons music shop, who gave me a free home studio refit. (Not that they planned to, I just took a bunch of surplus they dumped while renovating their store.)

The bigger pic. Spruced-up harmonium to match the showroom: http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos- ... 3400_n.jpg

Connectors, cables, fuses, nuts, screws, other twiddly bits. Lovely. That 'welcome' board stand can be used for cymbals, as well as homemade mouse top. Its own base makes a nice ringing sound, plus I can now wheel a VGA about the place thanks to that hospital. Good sturdy stuff and I'm well chuffed.

Ever get the feeling the stuff I actually buy is overpriced in comparison?

And still it comes...
Are they actually in a recession there or what?! Not complaining though.

Stagg drum stool, skins and pad, more stands, cable, new paintbrush, headset, rubber feet, carpet knives, another LCD and so on... Plus peanuts PC, records and tapes from charity stalls. I know summer's when I refine the studio but this is ridiculous, luckily.

And I'm only getting this lot home on a bike, so luckily there was no room for the glass display cases...

There'll be one hell of a sale when I give up recording. Though some of it needed (very simple) repair, I do question how someone can dump so much.

I dunno why they haven't gone bust with all they dispose of.

Their old DVD carousel stand will stop the cello rolling around, as I need to play it as well as run the equipment. Still, if they wanna chuck it out....

..And for 2014, the chuckout hauls continue. Some patch cable, pivoted keyboard brackets, long dust covers, a round mat thing, orange... things and even more stands will come in handy. I expect.

But the noted stuff is what I couldn't bring home. They smash up the guitars now, all three of 'em. As well as an otherwise pristine bass amp on their skip. It may have been broken but it could have been mended.

Looks like I caught the best years.
