Great to see it funded already. I backed at level 3 and got the early bird though I noticed what Chris said earlier in this thread, I take it P&P is included in the £35 in the UK as I noticed Jan had to pay extra?

The limited edition has quite steep postage abroad because it will be sent recorded delivery: it's too limited to risk copies in the post.

Hey all, been a long time.

Really happy to have been informed of this Kickstarter, cant wait to see the final product!

As a recent convert to the vinyl format, i'm loving the fact that I will be getting a copy of this on the black stuff :) I have a question about this - is it set in stone that this will be a vinyl picture disc? The reason I ask, is that picture discs seem to be considered as detrimental to the audio quality (heightened surface noise, compromised dynamics etc...), and if it were at all possible to get a standard "vanilla" black vinyl pressing I would certainly be in favor of going in a more audiophile rather than artistic direction. Who knows, could it even be more cost effective in terms of production?

On another note, if we can just get Ben Daglish, Anthony Lees and Reyn Ouewhand to follow up on the clear success of this Kickstarter with their own projects for the other Last Ninja soundtracks, then I will be waiting for whenever the call comes :)

Er... it's a bit late to change it now since the picturedisk is "cooler" and people have backed it. First I've heard of the problem: if it worried Matt to the point where the audio quality would be an issue, then he would presumably have noted it earlier.

If the project gets to its 75K stretch goal, further stretch goals may inch a little in the direction you indicated Ninja-wise. But you didn't hear it from me.

And, it's reached its stretch goal of £40,000 so six new SIDs will exist.

Not far off half way now on the Kickstarter campaign. I'm going to be making an announcement on there and across FB & Twitter later today about a couple of new additions and guest appearances for one of the stretch goals, so keep your eyes on the sites. All the best Matt.

And the announcement was that Chris Huelsbeck and Eirik Suhrke will be joining the 75K stretch goal, with Chris and Eirik each remixing a Matt Gray track, and Matt remixing a Chris Huelsbeck.

Thanks to everyone on the remix64 forum who's supported my Reformation/Last Ninja 2 Remakes Kickstarter so far. It was this site that heard the news first just a couple of months ago and it's great that there's just a week to go until until the Kickstarter ends and the work begins.

Just in case anyone has missed it, I put a preview up of my remake of Rob Hubbard's Sanxion Loader (aka Thalamusic)

If you want to get the full final version of this then you'll need to get involved with the Kickstarter before it ends on Tues 2nd Dec at 10.25am. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/12 ... ay-last-ni

All the best, Matt.

Excellent one! 8)

However, does "full final version" means that the missing sequence beginning at 2:50 of the original SID will be included?
There are 2 Sanxion Loader remixes in the recently released Rob Hubbard tribute album by German Remix Group and both omitted that sequence too, which is a shame because they are nice remixes too. So leaving it out seems to be a trend these days...

I'm tempted by this. I'm really hoping for the £60,000 target.

Regarding Sanxion, I also missed the 2:50 part of the Sanxion SID, but the most annoying thing was the extra note! What is it with Sanxion? I've never known a SID tune to have what appears to be 50% of them with completely wrong, or extra notes :frustration:

Matt, I'm loving the tracks released so far, and Sanxion is also great, but the extra note is really bothering me. Of course, it's your remix, and I haven't yet paid anything for it, but I thought you might want some feedback.

2.7 seconds into this - a slight pause:
An extra note:
BTW, roughly how much extra has been made from the non-kickstarter funding? If it's getting close to the 60K mark, I'll definitely support it, but I don't know if it's an extra £100 or £3,000, etc. that needs to be added on to the KS total.

Just a suggestion for a relatively easy to supply stretch goal - access to 24bit versions of the tracks (FLAC presumably, like you had on Bandcamp for the LN2 piece). Of course you could include it for the existing levels, need I mention it's nearly Xmas ;).
Loving what I'm hearing so far and very happy to be backing it.

Hi Monty. Yes, it will include the epic melody break, but this track was completed in super quick time to demonstrate what I could do with other C64 composers tracks, so there was little time to do this lengthy section as I want it to sound. But it will be there along with my own embelishments.

Thanks

Hi Necronom.

Glad you like the remakes and I know what you're saying about the extra note, but as I said to Monty I had to make this track very quick so one extra note hasn't bothered anyone else as far as I'm aware and it is a remake or remix so I do have license to add or amend things as I see fit. Personally I've heard far too many remixes that have a lot of wrong notes (including of my own tracks), but hey if everyone copied each other it wouldn't be very interesting would it?

The extra funding is just shy of £500 so it's not a huge difference at the moment. I'd be suprised a bit now if we didn't hit the £60k stretch as apparently most successful Kickstarters are front and back loaded on funding, but I'm not taking anything for granted.

All the best

Matt
