Hi guys,

RETRO is IN - Future is OUT ??
Have a look at this LINK:

http://www.xample-music.com/atari/atari.html
(LINK IS NO LONGER VALID 9/2003)

It's a rebuild of the legendary ATARI VCS 2600 Joystick ,
but best is, it includes 10 GAME classics in itself !!!!

What a great idea !!!!!!

The GAMES are the following:

You can buy this at KARSTAD.de in Germany for nearly 30 Euros !!!

Hehe, Tom!

If you look 10 threads down...what do you think the thread is about?

Anyhow, this thing rocks, but read the test in c't, some things are worse than the originals...

No, don't get me wrong... :)

It's easy to play and cheap, and of course it's cult! 8)
But I'm sure you won't be playing much with it after the first days...

But, as written in the other thread, I think I'm going to get anyway, as I'm addicted to this old stuff and silly at all!

Cool idea but...

Where are all the REALLY good atari games?

River Raid, Pole Position, Space Invaders, Keystone Capers etc? Plus with todays technology, I'm sure they could squeeze more than 10 games into it (the whole 2600 back catalogue would take up no more than about 3mb)!

All that said, it does LOOK cool. 8)

When do we get the C64 equivalent housed in one of those AWFUL blister inducing Commodore joysticks?!

I think Activision actually did a different version, a couple of years ago, with more of a gamepad design and a number of Activision titles.

My top 10 Atari VCS games would probably be:

Demon Attack
Keystone Kapers
Warlords
Cosmic Ark
Adventure
Pitfall
Pitfall 2
Combat
Enduro
Ms. Pac Man

Anyone tried any 2600 remixing? :) There aren't many games with a real "tune" but Pitfall 2 has one.

No, I think he's talking about the "Raiders of the Lost Ark" game.

The fact that is self contained in a joystick is really cool :)

Anyway, i first saw an atari 2600 clone with multirom in 1991 (it was done without any licence of course) and selled at about the same price as this one.

A good way to play those classic is, if you have a ps2, buying "Activision Classics", that contains all the activision + emagic games emulated on the sony console.

Another way is to have a ps2 or xbox, a modchip, then you can download a port of the stella emulator, download the roms you need and put everything on a cd or dvd.

cheers.
