Visa Röster Instruments

Post by xo »

Visa Rösta, perhaps the most skilled group in the scene, really should be drifting towards using instruments as well - even though their entire concept is based on voice-based instrument emulation. I just feel more tracks a la Armageddon Man is needed. It's just incredible to have this skill in this scene. True artists.

Thought Mahoney was the main man and the brains responsible for bringing the remixes to life which he has many many wonderfull (quote from Police Academy ;) ) times and used plenty of instruments.

In fact, no. To quote myself from the first message

"even though their entire concept is based on voice-based instrument emulation"

However, I feel their skills would be better used in a combined vocal and instrumental effort.

I realize Mahoney has done some tracks on his own and some coops, with instruments. But these often tend to be quite funny - not that this is bad. I have enjoyed several of them.

But his potential is shown better in Armageddon Man and in this track there is also excellent vocals.

I hope this spells out my point...

The Visa Röster/Makke Last Ninja 3 is the perfect mix of acapella and instruments.

Or O2's Comic Bakery, sweet!
I think it was someone from Visa Röster for the vocals...
I agree with XO with a mix of vocals and instruments.

I don't want to spoil their fun, I just believe their potential for creating superb music is best met in a track with instruments as well as vocals.

Where can I find it???

I'm also fond of Visa Roster very much and if there are added non human instruments in their repertoire then it won't be Visa Röster anymore...
Even so I think they should try it, as Xo suggested.

Buy their second Album "Ready, vocally too". There are a number of tunes on there WITH instruments, and they are quite good ! ( especially Rambo, LN3 and Calm )

Also my favorite remix ever has a real piano in addition to Hanna's beautiful voice:
Thrust - Visa Röster

Another grand example of how good Visa Röster + instruments sound together is the collabo between Markus Schneider and Visa Röster from the album "C64 vocally". Not available for free download, but it was featured on the C64 Take-away Episode #33 ( tune starting at time index 14:48 )

EDIT: Forgot to mention the song's called "Sweet", remixed from Johannes Bjerregards original SID.
