I have interest in various styles, but when it comes to what I'll willingly put in my CD player to listen (not just for ambiant music or party music), I'll have to go with some Metal passion in Iron Maiden, Metallica (up to the black album), Megadeth (Up to countdown to extinction), Helloween, Hammerfall, Rhapsody.

Also, when my mood is in another dimension, I'll go with Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Sibelius and Dvorak.

But when it comes to dancing, the array of songs widens...

My favorites include:

Chopin
Beethoven
Bach
Beatles
Louis Armstrong
Schubert
Radiohead
Pink Floyd
Steely Dan
Thomas Dolby
Elton John
Police
Frank Sinatra
Billy Holiday
and of course the divine Mr. Galway :)

If I had to pick one desert-island musician/composer etc., I would go with Beethoven. His 32 piano sonatas are the core of my musical world.

I like alot of different music.

Pantera, Faith No More, AC/DC, Black Sabbath (also the Dio stuff ;) ) as well as Kraftwerk, VNV Nation, Apoptygma Berzerk, Covenant, Elegan Machinery etc.

I could go on namedropping for am hour, but I think you'd get fairly tired of it :)
