I want nice music for my game

Post by A4E »

Greetings. I love the C64 and Amiga remixes you guys are making,
which is why I made some music videos with your music on youtube.
http://www.youtube.com/user/JoarMusic

I think music done by one of you would fit really well
for a game I am making these days.
If begging is inappropriate here then I am sorry for being a douche
and you can just delete this thread.

I made lots of freeware games on Amiga that is available on aminet,
but now I want to try to make really good games for PC
and try to earn some money because I am very poor.

My music making skills are very low so that is why I wanted to ask you guys
if someone could make something nice for my new game.
The game is about wizards, magic, monsters, strategy, and various other crazy stuff.
You can both play in turn based mode and realtime mode.
I hate RTS games where you have to click everywhere in a stressfull way
so it is not that type of a game.

The kind of music I would like should be largely atmospheric
and not taking any attention away from the sounds going on in the game.

If someone is interested then we can make a deal about percentage of income
if I ever get to a stage of making money of of the game.
You can send PM if you want.

I think what you need to do is to search Remix.kwed.org and/or c64audio.com for something you want to use, then come back here and ask.

But wont there be a problem with the rights of the original composer even if I get permission from a remixer to use a remix?

Just choose a track, contact me again, and I'll see if I can make the permissions happen.

And just to sidetrack a little, I must say that's a very interesting choice of name. Why did you happen to pick A4E?

Better than A&E, which would have been a disaster :)

"Amiga 4 Ever"

In the olden days I had a nick that was even weirder. Im}bE
But I was a zombie back then so I was almost not alive.
I had been poisoned by Aspartame for 5 years. The toxic stuff they put in every gum and diet sodas.

I never thought of that. Bit unfortunate as the UK government's work provider of the same name only has a 3.5% success rate whilst its founder still walked away with around eight million Pounds of taxpayer money, with an additional two million top up because she felt like it.

Oh for that life in the chiptune game.

Ok, as per request I made a list today of the music I would like to use in my game.

The game has grown since I started this thread.

I have been thinking alot about how I am going about with this game, and I am pretty certain I will go for freeware donation based and make a website to have it on to continue development.

I dont want to impose on anyone to take their time asking the authors, but if you do, then this is in no way in any hurry.

AmiGamer - Dune intro remix.mp3
AmiGamer - Turrican 2- Freedom - Western Remix.mp3
Amok - Final Fight (Immortal-4-Mix).mp3

I can't help much with the melodies in this list: only with Ghouls and Ghosts and Oh No Game Over.

Thanks anyway. Sorry for late reply.

I guess it would be hard to get a hold of the original authors. So I might decide to make some crappy music myself and use that.

However, I have been thinking that I will be releasing games for free and then accept donations from anyone who want to support my work. Would that alter the situation? I guess I would have to credit both original and remix author, but other than that what thoughts do you have on including the music in a freeware game?
