How do you do these? All freehand or some tracing involved? Real pencil or digital pencil??

@AndyUK: I measure the original photo to project positions of things, but no tracing is involved. The rough, thin outline of the hair on the WIP images gives you an idea of that. The pictures are done freehand with soft pastels, and oil and water based pastel pencils.
