Announcement: SceneSat Radio blasts off

You may have heard of SceneSat Radio, the scene radio project started by Hazel, Ziphoid and a number of other scene folks last year. Our goal is to spread scene music to a wider audience and promote all the good music out there. After a long beta period (hey, if Google can do it, why can't we?) it is finally ready for takeoff.

So, nerds and nerdettes, mark February 7th, 20:00 CET in your calendar and get ready for a massive launch, including:

* Brand spanking new web page, with member area, forums, lots of scene info - oodles of stuff!
* Several scene personalities with us live at the launch show
* Scene-related contests with music- and scene-related schwag to win!
* And last but not least..

Today we announce the forthcoming scene compilation The Sound of SceneSat volume 1, consisting of new and exclusive works from some of the scene's finest musicians!

There. Now we've switched off the rotational an will have a loop playing until we go fully live on Saturday. This is done to be able to tweak the final details of the stream and track collection.

When we go live again, we have prepped the rotational with over 500 new tracks (not including the ones in the Sound of SceneSat vol 1) from all sides of the scene.

@Mayhem: Yeah, too bad about RV, but I'm sure you guys'n'gals will have a splendid time there as well!

The event WILL of course be recorded, but the best way to enjoy it will be to attend hearing it when it's been aired, since we have a bunch of treats like competitions and a LOT of new and awesome music!

So, now the compilation The Sound of SceneSat Volume 1 is available for download and it's a beauty, so go ahead and grab it --> --> --> --> right here, on the site <-- <-- <-- <--. It contains 54 tracks, with a playtime of about 4½ hours and I'm sure you'll enjoy it. There are also quite a few C64-remixes and among them the most massive Commando-remix you'll ever hear, for sure.

I missed the live launch event, but I did download the show and it was top stuff pal....

I think when Firestorms Commando remix is released on R.K.O its going to reach no.1 spot as this is just amazing, top sounds, top arrangement and fresh.....

So I downloaded and dumped the whole thing on my Memory stick, so I can listen to it on the way to work. My Player is on Shuffle, and the first track that came on was "Scenesat Trance Anthem" very neat.

I've been driving around with a bunch W.I.P's on the stick.. I can finally hear some of the Finished versions, like Mordi's Big Deal.
