Bug Reports Here.

Post by Analog-X64 »

Why not make this sticky and report bugs since there will be a few with the new install till things get ironed out.

I'll start.

"Mark Forums Read" from the Top of the Board Index does not work, when clicked it reports "All forums have been marked read." But if I go back and click on "View New Posts" they all show up again.

using FireFox v2.0.0.6

Note that this is still a RC version of phpBB3. Since I'm not actively fixing bugs in the standard software, these bugs might be best reported to the phpBB team...

I know there will for sure be some known bugs. But I figure we may run into some specific bugs only applicable to this site.

Ok I went into the Cookies Options in FireFox and erased all Remix64 related cookies. Which forced me to log-in again.. which I did.

I clicked on "Mark Forums Read" from the Top of the Board Index, which I got a reply that all messages were marked as read and it returned me back to the Board Index, and from the status of the Icons on the left it appeard that I have nothing new to read.

However If I click on "View New Posts" I still get a listing of all the new Postings which should have been marked as read.

I was using this feature with the previous version of phpBB and it worked fine which is the reason I brought it up, because I cant seem to get it working with the new version.

PS: I get the same results in Internet Explorer v6

It doesn't work the same way as phpBB v2 - marking the forums as read gets rid of the yellow icon that shows a new post, but when you then click New Posts it still shows all the posts from the last few days. if you go to User Control Panel > Board settings, you can choose how long to display posts for. So, if you only want to see posts dating back to yesterday, set it to 1 Day.

I think this is because, and certainly applies to me, if you look in the top left corner, it still says for me "Last visit was Mon Aug 20 2007" when obviously I've been here every day since Monday. Hence it'll show anything since that date if you hit "view new posts" whether you've read it already or not.

It's propably the "remember me" function. Maybe it actually resumes the session instead of starting a new one.

I don't seem to get any notifications to my mail adress when topics I've participated in get new replies... this worked very fine before... actually that is the reason I've had a "rant break" here on the forum... I was on the verge of posting a "HELLLLO!!! ello...ello...ello..." post at some point, wondering why there was no activity! (with all my ranting in here, there used to be daily series of replies coming to my mail!) :duh:

What is that MSN [Bot] doing here?
And why is it that everywhere I go no matter what time it is, a single guest follows me around the whole forum? :confusion:

Search engine bots walk the web all the time. The new forum recognises most of them and singles them out so they don't mess up the stats.

Cool - This recognizing thing...
Hmm, what about killing them off?
Or is somebody interested in being spyed on by some information gathering bots?
By killing them off I mean setting the rules for bots to 'don't follow links'.
