Laxity - A Trace of Space (wip)

Post by Mordi »

Quite the tune, this one. Changes time-signature every minute or so. Baked the original SID into it, just for the wip's sake.

Cool! ...sounds very 70's Vangelis. Are you sure you haven't got hold of one of his unreleased works Mordi :wink:

I take no credit in the music it was all done by Mordi. However, I liked mordi's track so much I overdubbed it with my CS80v and recorded my improv with the windows soundrecorder. It sounds so much like Vangelis (well to me anyway) I liked it so much I thought I share it with you. Mordi I hope you don't mind.

Would you care to share what synth was used to perform the lead. It has a lot of expression in it!

That sounds really nice. I should get a hold of that softsynth!

I more or less use Zebra 2 for everything nowadays. Including the leads. It's actually made from scratch, using just a few simple saws, but I edit the cutoff and vibrato by hand. I can show you an image of the settings I use;

The purple stuff at the bottom is the cutoff level. Makes a world of difference doing it by hand.

Talk about eargasm... you guys should do a colab with this tune and make it longer... 5 minute version at the very least. :worship:

Bonus points to Mordi for using FL Studio :) Sometimes I think I'm the only one using it.

DAMN!! These lead synths of yours are just so crystal clear, and as always perfectly balanced. A wonderful song!

OOh and Analog, You're not the only one pal.. :) Though I suspect there's a HUGE difference in Mordi 'Using' FL Studio and My feeble attempts hehe..

Wow. And I agree, Doddsy's Vangelis-esque re-remix should also be released.

Thanks for showing us the "wizard behind the curtain" mordi. I know most musicians don't like revealing their secrets on how they make their music. Zebra 2 certainly is an interesting piece of music making software. I do like my CS80v though it's one of those softsynths designed for players - get a good controller mind with plenty of knobs to assign and you are in synth heaven!

Look forward to it's release.

The way I use FL Studio is akin to a caveman rubbing two pieces of sticks together trying to start a fire. :rofl:

I follow the infinite monkey theory, wip after wip after wip.. Eventually something good happens. It's when you get to these guys like Mordi and Doddsy here you realize some monkeys are more evolved heh ( er.. that IS a compliment.. just making sure heh :slap: :w00t: )

Awesome best remix i've heard so far this year and probably all year! I like the dreamy introduction and the expression in the leads.
