Suggestion - Elder Scrolls remix style

Post by Doddsy »

Hi all,
I'm thinking of starting a new sid remix project that aims to sound something like the Oblivion or Skyrim soundtracks. Do you have any suggestions for possible sid tunes that would best fit this style?

Many thanks
MD.

A slow version of Delta Victory might work like that.

@Chris, Do you mean Delta victory from Call of Duty? Because that's metal-like....
@Doddsy, the soundscape sounds like medieval to me. But it's a bit toooo slow.
Maybe some of these may be suitable:

/MUSICIANS/K/Klink_Harold/Knights_of_the_Dark_Castle.sid

I was going to put Wrath of the Demon and then realised you've already remixed that. :)

Stormlord sounds like it might be a nice fit.

Cheers for the suggestion Dumper. I've started work on Knights of the dark castle and the new Druid II remix release by Marcus has given me additional inspiration!

I found your knights remix. It's very good. Slow with a hint of epic.

Good work.

Your latest remix sounds very nice, Doddsy. What plugins are you using in terms of the orchestra instruments?

Good work.
Thanks for suggesting this remix - I don't think I would have discovered it. I had good fun remixing it and learned a few new production techniques on the way! I read somewhere that Jeremy Soule had done the Oblivion soundtrack just using midi instruments so that was what inspired me to do this remix.

@mordi
The only software instruments I used were my CS80v layered with a Roland JV2080, Korg Symphony and a Roland U220.
A vintage midi orchestra you could say!
