1) Own up.
2) Pay up.
3) Shut up.

My advice to Mr. T.

If anyone else wants legal advice, I come very cheap...

I would still have been able to respect Timbaland and his work if he'd just owned up, said he didn't do his research well enough, and that fair compensation would be payed to GRG and Tempest.

Now, he's just coming off as a complete clown. I really hope he'll have to eat his own words. What an utter wanker!

geeezus, that's funny stuff. especially the "c...64; commodore...sixty four" part. hopefully some of his "niggaz from the hood" show him that stuff. that's the way he deserves to be treated - besides some sueing.
any way <quote_bart>I didn't do it</quote_bart>

I would rather like to see this issue solved. Timberland should fire his 'ghostwriters', pay up and shut his piehole.

Dig a big hole, dunk this whole affair and forget it.
Just remind the music industry if they go on another pirate-copy-rampage that they aren't better. Not even an inch.

But nooo... this is getting a farce with 'dumb phat gangsta rappers' vs. 'video games rejects'.

"Show me your gold chains and I show you my retractable ball pen collection."

Bah!

I totally agree with you Vosla. I'd rather see some money/reputation/credits/excuse for the real developer but sometimes, especially when things are hopeless (don't punch me for that), satire is a good way to peck the big ones.

A better satire, which would show the whole thing up, would be for someone to "accidentally" take a Timbaland track in its entirety, whack some new drum sounds over the top and then add a few SID farts and burps (or even some C64 "vocals").

As for YouTube, I think that one where it continually plays, flitting between the different versions, is the best example I've seen to date, in terms of comparing the different tracks. If that isn't conclusive, I don't know what is. Frankly, if the MOD and SID authors don't get something out of this (likely: an out-of-court one-off settlement and co-writing credits for the MOD author), especially given Timbalands outbursts on that radio show, their lawyers really aren't that great.

This might interest those who have Do It in ears... I think it's sort-of answer from Nelly to the controversy. ;-) No more Do It as we knew it? Or maybe I just lost my sense for music.. hm..

Good Find. They may have removed the samples, but the song is still based on the Acid Jazz Evening and you can hear that in the Chords and Singing. :) you cant remove that.

I wonder if the change was made so her band could play the track live, rather for legal reasons.

Even if it wasn't they may claim this was the reason.
